Pack Camo

Convert anything, compress everything, upload nothing

What it does

Pack Camo converts and compresses files without uploading them: images to WebP, AVIF, PNG or SVG, DOCX ⇄ PDF, JSON/YAML/TOML/CSV/Markdown, plus gzip, Brotli and ZIP. Real codecs, compiled from Rust to WebAssembly, run in your tab. No account, works offline.

A free file toolkit that runs on your device, not on a server. Convert images to WebP, AVIF, JPEG, PNG or SVG, move DOCX and PDF in either direction, reshape JSON, YAML, TOML, CSV and Markdown, and compress anything with gzip, Brotli or ZIP. No upload, no sign-up.

Pack Camo is a file toolkit that runs inside your browser tab. Images, structured data, archives and documents are decoded, converted and re-encoded on your own machine. No account, no queue, no server that briefly holds your files. Each tool is a full workspace rather than a one-shot upload box: drop a file, turn the knobs, and watch the result change before you download anything. Re-encode, resize and vectorise images with a live before/after. Move structured text between JSON, YAML, TOML, CSV and Markdown. Shrink any file with gzip or Brotli, or bundle a folder into ZIP. Most online converters ask you to hand a file to a machine you know nothing about, wait in a queue, then download it…from packcamo.com

There are lots of solutions already, but most solutions have too many ads or they process on server(privacy concern). Webutils convert all images on client using webassembly.

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
