PeerHelp
Hi HN, I built PeerHelp to solve a problem I kept seeing at university. Students either rely on expensive tutors or low quality answer sites that do not help them actually understand the material. PeerHelp connects university students directly with other verified students for concept explanations, revision support, and study guidance. It is not about writing answers for people. The focus is on understanding and learning. Students can get help when they are stuck, and other students can earn money by sharing knowledge they already have. I am looking for honest feedback, especially around…

What it does
Most student help platforms are either expensive tutoring marketplaces or anonymous forum sites. PeerHelp is different. It connects university students directly with other verified students for concept explanations, revision support, and study guidance. No agencies, no subscriptions, and no AI generated content. Students get clear explanations from peers who understand the subject or earn money by helping others.
PeerHelp connects students for academic help or paid tutoring on a fast, simple peer-to-peer platform.

Hi everyone! I’m the founder of Explanations (https://explanations.app). I’m building a website where students can get college level math & physics help for 1/10th the cost of private tutoring. You’d type a question, and your teacher replies by drawing a Youtube/KhanAcademy-style video; and this happens asynchronously throughout the week. When I was studying at MIT, I often had to wait 40-60 minutes in line just to get 5 minutes of “help” from a TA - when I needed 1-2 hours. I understood that TAs can’t spend all their time helping me. That’s understandable. But what made…

Hey Hacker News! My name is Collin, 18 years old and doing a gap year after finishing high school last year. This was my first real project after starting to learn web development around 5 months ago. I came up with this idea as it was a real pain for me to find other people from my country and especially my age, learning and taking online courses about the same stuff online. Lots of these online courses include their own discord communities and forums, but I still found it very hard to connect with other people in there. Thats why I built Coursemate. I would love to get your feedback on it!…

I am aged 11 and founder of https://sprout9.net/ a platform for students to find great tutors. Please forgive me if I get this wrong and post it incorrectly. I would like fellow hackers to give me some constructive feedback on my MVP please. Ideas and suggestions as how I can improve my version 1.0 and how I can get the word out so I can help many students as possible. Thanks alot! Azaan

Hello my name is Ben Ward for the past 3 years I have been remastering the financial game Wall Street Raider created by Michael Jenkins originally on DOS in 1986. It has been a rough journey but I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I just recently redid the website and thought maybe the full story of how this project came to be would interest you all. Thank you for reading.
