PinkArrows – An open-source Skitch alternative on the web

I really loved Skitch. In fact, the pink Skitch arrows and dumbed-down text became a trademark of mine in multiple jobs. In a sea of text on Slack and email, Skitch annotations are a refreshing way to make a single, obvious, and easy to digest point. Since Skitch shut down, I've looked for multiple alternatives that are: Free-ish, have similar styling, and are lightweight (no signin, no server syncing). I didn't find any, so I built PinkArrows. In plain words

PinkArrows is an open-source web tool for annotating images with arrows and text, designed as a lightweight alternative to the discontinued Skitch app. It requires no sign-in or server syncing and features Skitch's signature pink arrows and simple text styling. The tool is ideal for users who want to quickly highlight key points in screenshots for sharing on Slack, email, or other platforms without friction or complexity.

It's my first time launching my own SaaS. I planned to develop it with a friend, but he refused to work with me because his developer skills are higher (in his opinion). I developed a simple online email scraper by keyword, hashtag, or followers using Google Search as a source of data (with Dorks) I will be glad to receive any feedback and suggestions.

Hi! I'm Marcell, and I'm working on FetchFox (https://fetchfoxai.com). It's a Chrome extension that lets you use AI to scrape any website for any data. I'd love to get your feedback. Here's a quick demo showing how you can use it to scrape leads from an auto dealer directory. What's cool is that it scrapes non-uniform pages, which is quite hard to do with "traditional" scrapers: https://youtu.be/wPbyPSFsqzA A little background: I've written lots and lots of scrapers over the last 10+ years. They're fun to write when they work, but the internet has changed in ways…

Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

  • Hey there HN! We’re Joe and Stopa, and today we’re open sourcing InstantDB, a client-side database that makes it easy to build real-time and collaborative apps like Notion and Figma. Building modern apps these days involves a lot of schleps. For a basic CRUD app you need to spin up servers, wire up endpoints, integrate auth, add permissions, and then marshal data from the backend to the frontend and back again. If you want to deliver a buttery smooth user experience, you’ll need to add optimistic updates and rollbacks. We do these steps over and over for every feature we build, which can…
