Prettier Email Headers

Hi, I'm Barry and I wanted to share this little tool I put together to help us (https://goodenough.us/) better parse email headers as we build Jelly (https://letsjelly.com/). We wanted an easier way to scan email headers when troubleshooting various issues that we run into with email handling. Email headers come into play when tracking who is involved in a conversation, tying conversations together, detecting spam, and more. Our eyes can get a little watery peering through raw email headers. This tool accepts a paste of a raw email, then it shows headers and…

In plain words

Prettier Email Headers is a tool that parses raw email headers and displays them in a readable format with definitions for each field. Built by the team behind Jelly, it helps users troubleshoot email handling issues by making it easier to scan headers when tracking conversations, detecting spam, and identifying involved parties. The tool accepts pasted raw emails and presents the information in a clearer layout, with header definitions sourced from multiple references.

In the maker’s words, at launch

Hi, I'm Barry and I wanted to share this little tool I put together to help us (https://goodenough.us/) better parse email headers as we build Jelly (https://letsjelly.com/). We wanted an easier way to scan email headers when troubleshooting various issues that we run into with email handling. Email headers come into play when tracking who is involved in a conversation, tying conversations together, detecting spam, and more. Our eyes can get a little watery peering through raw email headers. This tool accepts a paste of a raw email, then it shows headers and their values in a format that's easier on the eyes. Where possible, definitions are provided for each header. Most of these definitions (and their citations) were gathered by Chat GPT, with some editing by me. Corrections are welcomed! And, yes, some vibe coding was involved in the creation of this tool.

  • Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…

Hi everyone, I built PyXL — a hardware processor that executes a custom assembly generated from Python programs, without using a traditional interpreter or virtual machine. It compiles Python -> CPython Bytecode -> Instruction set designed for direct hardware execution. I’m sharing an early benchmark: a GPIO test where PyXL achieves a 480ns round-trip toggle — compared to 14-25 micro seconds on a MicroPython Pyboard - even though PyXL runs at a lower clock (100MHz vs. 168MHz). The design is stack-based, fully pipelined, and preserves Python's dynamic typing without static type restrictions.…
