PromptHero – Search millions of prompts for Stable Diffusion and DALL-E
In plain words
PromptHero is a searchable database of millions of prompts designed for AI image generation tools like Stable Diffusion and DALL-E. The platform helps users find and explore prompts created by the community to generate specific images. It serves anyone working with these AI tools who wants to discover how others have structured their text instructions to achieve particular visual results. The service makes it easier to learn prompt techniques and find starting points for image generation projects.

Open Prompts is the dataset used to build krea.ai. The data comes from the Stability AI Discord and includes around 10M images from 2M prompts. You can use it for creating semantic search engines of prompts, training LLMs, fine-tuning image-to-text models like BLIP, or extracting insights from the data—like the most common combinations of modifiers.

Hey HN! We’re Kevin and Steve. We’re building PromptTools (https://github.com/hegelai/prompttools): open-source, self-hostable tools for experimenting with, testing, and evaluating LLMs, vector databases, and prompts. Evaluating prompts, LLMs, and vector databases is a painful, time-consuming but necessary part of the product engineering process. Our tools allow engineers to do this in a lot less time. By “evaluating” we mean checking the quality of a model's response for a given use case, which is a combination of testing and benchmarking. As examples: - For generated…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…

A couple of years ago, I had an interesting idea. What if there was a marketplace where all the underlying tech was open-source? The order management system, the storefront, customer support, etc. The marketplace would simply connect to the seller’s infra instead of locking them in. If, for some reason, the seller is removed from the marketplace, their software stays with them and they can continue accepting orders directly. This model can be used to disrupt any marketplace from AirBNB to UberEats: building tech for home renters and restaurants and later, leveraging that to build a competing…
