ProofBench

Know which idea to build, before you build it

Visit proofben.chAlternativestop 13% of August 2026

What it does

ProofBench spins up a fake-door landing page for each of your ideas, tracks who signs up and who clicks "buy", and ranks them by conversion and buy-intent rate — not vanity views. So you build the one people actually want. One-time payment, no subscription.

Test your startup ideas with real landing pages. ProofBench measures the real signal — email conversion + fake-door intent, not vanity views — and ranks your ideas so you build the one people actually want.

Launch a test page for each idea in minutes. ProofBench tracks who signs up and who clicks buy — real intent, not vanity views — and ranks your ideas so you build the one people actually want. 312 views → wins. “Budget tracker” pulled 2,100 views at just 9% — volume lies. Three weekends. A landing page. One tweet. Then… silence — no signups, no replies. You didn't have a code problem. You had a proof problem: you built before you knew if anyone wanted it. ProofBench is how you stop adding to the graveyard. Give your idea a headline, a subtitle, and a button. Pick a template. It's live at proofben.ch/p/your-idea. Drop the link in a tweet, a subreddit, your newsletter, or a $20 ad. Measuring…from proofben.ch

Hi HN! I made a really quick web app to help people validate their ideas. The app is a simple landing page builder, but every page includes a really simple Yes/No "Are You Interested?" poll. Every vote is recorded and tracked, and if they click yes they are brought to a page where they can submit an email. This makes validating ideas super easy because you can post your link to different communities and get statistically significant results as well as build an email list. Given an hour, you could easily create 50 different landing pages and be able to validate your ideas in bulk. The…

  • Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
