Visualizing quantum physics with Python

QMsolve launched on August 5, 2021 with 72 votes, #1,047 of 2,992 launches that month and more than 50% of that year's launches.

What it does

QMsolve seeks to provide a solid and easy to use solver, capable of solving the Schrödinger equation for one and two particles, and creating descriptive and stunning visualizations of its solutions both in 1D, 2D, and 3D.

I wanted to make the simplest app to introduce myself and others to quantum computing. Introducing, Schrödinger's Coin. Powered by a simple Hadamard gate[0] on IBM quantum, with this app you can directly interact with a quantum system to experience true randomness. Thoughts? Could you see any use cases for yourself of this? Or, does it inspire any other ideas of yours? Curious what others on HN think! [0] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_logic_gate#Hadamard_ga...

    Qoord, a simple quantum circuit simulator2024 · github.com · ▲23

Hi! I built this to teach myself how a quantum circuit simulator works. It's about 1000 lines of Python, aiming to be understandable more than being fast or robust. It's not meant to compete with anything else - just a personal project to really get clear on the under-the-hood theory of qubits and quantum gates.

The little particles will gravitate to your cursor (or touch location), and can even enter stable orbits if the conditions are right! Mainly an excuse for me to experiment with wasm and WebGL, but it makes for a surprisingly good fidget toy.

  • High-Performance Wavelet Matrix for Python, Implemented in RustDec 2025 · pypi.org · ▲93

I built a Rust-powered Wavelet Matrix library for Python. There were surprisingly few practical Wavelet Matrix implementations available for Python, so I implemented one with a focus on performance, usability, and typed APIs. It supports fast rank/select, top-k, quantile, range queries, and even dynamic updates. Feedback welcome!

Hey all My name is Sindre, and I am the CTO of Scrimba (YC S20). For the last 7 years, I have written all my web apps in a full-stack programming language called Imba. It compiles to JavaScript and its main goal is to make web developers more productive. I just launched a major overhaul of Imba, so I wanted to share it here on HN, in case anyone are interested in learning more about it. It is very opinionated, so some of you might not like it, but I would love to hear anyones feedback regardless. Constructive criticism appreciated! The backstory: Imba initially started in 2012 as an effort…

Hello HN, Over the last year we've been building ente[1], a privacy-friendly, easy-to-use alternative to Google Photos. We've so far built Android[2][3], iOS[4], web[5] apps that encrypt your files and back them up in the background. You can access these across your devices, and share them with other ente users, end-to-end encrypted. You can also use our electron app[6] to maintain a local copy of your backed up files. We've built a fault-tolerant data replication layer that replicates your data to two different storage providers in the EU. We will be providing additional replicas as an…
