In plain words
Qrkey is a tool for backing up private cryptographic keys on paper using QR codes. It converts private keys into QR code format that can be printed and stored offline, providing a physical backup method for users who need to secure sensitive cryptographic material. The tool is designed for developers and cryptocurrency users who want an air-gapped storage solution independent of digital storage devices.

Paranoid Qrypto2025 · paranoidqrypto.com · ▲7Built an offline encryption tool for people who don't trust cloud services or hardware wallets. Paranoid Qrypto runs completely offline (air-gapped). You type your seed phrase on an offline device, and it encrypts it using Argon2id + AES-256-GCM. The encrypted file can be stored anywhere USB, cloud, printed as QR code without exposing your keys. Why this was build: Hardware wallets cost $100-200 and are single points of failure * Cloud solutions require trusting a third party * Paper backups have no protection if found Technical details: * Runs in browser with no server calls * All…
I made a privacy-first minimalist Backblaze2022 · blobbackup.com · ▲236Creator here. I was looking for something as simple as Backblaze Personal [1] but privacy focused and open source. This is my attempt to build that. Uses PyQt6 [2] for the GUI and Pyinstaller [3] for creating the platform specific binaries. The backup engine under the hood is Restic [4]. The server code is written in Laravel [5]. All the code is on GitHub [6]. I actually really like Backblaze (even use B2 for this offering behind the scenes) so this isn't meant to throw shade their way. Just wanted a private open source alternative. Something like Bitwarden but for backups. [1]…

Hey HN! Pilots everywhere are required to keep a logbook of all their flying hours, aircraft, airports, and so on. Since I track everything digitally (some people still just use paper logbooks!), I put together some data visualizations and a few 3D globes to show my flying history. This globe is probably my favourite so far: https://jameshard.ing/pilot/globes/all If you’ve got ideas for other graphs or ways to show this kind of data, I’d love to hear them!

I was the main contributor to workout.lol, an open-source fitness app to easily build a workout routine. The project had traction (1.4k GitHub stars, 95 forks, ~20K visits/month), but was eventually sold due to video licensing hurdles. The new owner stopped maintaining it, and the repo went abandoned. Over the next 9 months, I sent 15 emails to try to save it : no replies. Feature requests & issues were ignored. The community was left with a "broken" tool let's say. I couldn't just let it die So I built the new version from scratch with the same open-source spirit, but a better…
