QuantFit

Publication-grade econometrics in your pocket

What it does

QuantFit brings applied econometrics to iPhone and iPad. Import CSV or XLSX files—or pull live data from the World Bank, IMF, Penn World Table and FRED—then run OLS, fixed and random effects, 2SLS, GMM, ARDL, NARDL, PMG, VAR, VECM and more. Inspect diagnostics, simulate policy shocks, and export publication-ready tables, charts, LaTeX, CSV and Excel. The new release turns a phone into a portable research workbench without collecting user data.

Run panel-data, ARDL, VAR, VECM, GMM and other applied econometric workflows on iPhone with QuantFit.

Standard errors in parentheses. Significance stars by journal convention (Newey-West, cluster-robust, or bootstrapped — your choice). Tabular numerics throughout. Export directly to LaTeX (booktabs), typeset PDF, or Word. Every run writes a reproducibility hash alongside the coefficient vector. No invented endorsements: evaluate QuantFit from its documented methods, screenshots, and working App Storefrom quantfit.app

 • Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…

 • I made OwnTime to balance between competing priorities in my life. The idea is based on two main influences: the concept of "roles" from "The 5 Choices" (2015), and my repeated failure to effectively implement time blocking due to the necessary flexibility in my role. The app allows you to define time budgets, which are not much more than a few mutually exclusive countdown timers. The UX is essentially that of a chess clock for an arbitrary number of players with configurable time. The whole point of the app is to kick you out of the running role/priority when its time is up. One…
