Rustacean AI – Tracking Rust's Expanding Role in AI
Rustacean AI, a weekly newsletter exploring how Rust is shaping the future of AI and Machine Learning. Issue #1: From Models to Data — Rust’s Expanding Role in AI Covers the growing Rust ecosystem around AI frameworks (Burn), data systems (Polars, Qdrant, Daft), and emerging tools that power safe, high-performance pipelines. The goal is to curate news, releases, and experiments from across the Rust + AI community — helping developers follow how the language is influencing the next generation of infrastructure. GraphBit2025 · graphbit.ai · ▲437We built GraphBit to solve the reliability gap in AI frameworks. It’s built on a Rust execution core with a Python layer for accessibility — deterministic orchestration, lock-free concurrency, and built-in observability. We’d love feedback from the HN community, especially from those running multi-LLM or agentic workflows at scale.

Pica – Rust-based agentic AI infrastructure (open-source)2025 · picaos.com · ▲63Hi HN, Founder here. We built Pica, an open-source platform in Rust to enable agentic AI with three main focus areas: - Access to APIs and tools: Universal SDKs that let AI agents use thousands of external actions without blowing up your context window. - Visibility and traceability: Full audit logs of every decision/action to ensure transparency and accountability. - Alignment with human intentions: Seamless guardrails for autonomous tasks; e.g., restricting certain email actions to human approval. Why this matters: As autonomy in AI grows, we need robust solutions for trust and…

ADK-RustDec 2025 · adk-rust.com · ▲6Hey everyone! I'm excited to share ADK-Rust - a production-ready implementation of Google's Agent Development Kit in Rust. Why Rust? After working extensively with adk-python in developing an ai agent factory at zavora.ai, I wanted to bring the same powerful agent development patterns to the Rust ecosystem, targeting use cases where: Performance is critical - Rust's zero-cost abstractions and memory safety Deployment size matters - Single binary with no runtime dependencies Systems-level integration - Embedded systems, edge computing, IoT Concurrency at scale - Rust's async/await with…

I went down the rabbit hole on a side project and ended up building this: Strange Attractors(https://blog.shashanktomar.com/posts/strange-attractors). It’s built with three.js. Working on it reminded me of the little "maths for fun" exercises I used to do while learning programming in early days. Just trying things out, getting fascinated and geeky, and being surprised by the results. I spent way too much time on this, but it was extreme fun. My favorite part: someone pointed me to the Simone Attractor on Threads. It is a 2D attractor and I asked GPT to extrapolate it to…

Autism Simulator▲779Hey all, I built this. It’s not trying to capture every autistic experience (that’d be impossible). It’s based on my own lived experience as well as that of friends on the spectrum. I'm trying to give people a feel for what masking, decision fatigue, and burnout can look like day-to-day. That’s hard to explain in words, but easier to show through choices and stats. I'm not trying to "define autism". I’ve gotten good feedback here about resilience, meds, and difficulty tuning. I’ll keep tweaking it. If even a few people walk away thinking, "ah, maybe that’s why my coworker struggles in those…
