Simscribe
Turn any Android phone into an SMS API
What it does
Simscribe turns an Android phone into an SMS gateway you control via API. Pair it in seconds with a QR code, then send single or bulk messages with templates, track delivery in real time, and integrate via REST API + signed webhooks. No carrier-grade fees — just the SIM plan you already have. Built for indie hackers, small teams, and anyone sending SMS notifications or alerts who wants a cheaper alternative to Twilio. Free plan, no credit card required.
Pair Android phones as SMS gateways and send, receive, and automate text messages through a REST API, webhooks, and a real dashboard.
Pair Android phones as SMS gateways, send single or bulk messages with reusable templates, and automate everything with a REST API and webhooks — without paying carrier-grade SMS pricing. No SIM cards to buy from us, no per-country carrier contracts — you already own the phone and the plan. Scan a one-time pairing code from the dashboard to register any Android phone as a gateway device — dual-SIM supported. Dispatch a single message, a bulk batch to hundreds of recipients, or call the REST API with a secret key from your own backend. Watch messages move from queued to delivered in real time, and get signed webhook callbacks the moment status changes. Pair as many Android phones as your…from simscribe.com

- LALet agents send/receive SMS using your old Android phoneJun 2026 · simlink.snaz.cz · ▲5
While playing with agents I realised it might be quite handy if they could get access to OTP codes. And while at it, why not give them ability to send the SMS as well. Twillio is expensive and annoying to set up for my taste. I vibe coded simple Android app that can read/send SMS and simple relay server that acts as MCP for agents. Works surprisingly well and my old android phone from a drawer is doing something useful again. Feel free to use it if you find it useful. I put it just to a $5 vps. If it's crashed, you should be able to spin up your own instance on your own VPS just in a…

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
