SQL Premier League – Learn SQL with Sports Data
Hey HN, I built SQL Premier League – a site where you solve SQL challenges using real IPL cricket data. Instead of querying boring datasets (employees, sales, etc.), you write SQL queries to analyze real IPL matches—find top run scorers, best finishers, clutch bowlers, and more! The website is open-source as well : https://github.com/Spyyy004/SQLPremierLeague-Frontend/ Would love to hear your feedback!
In plain words
SQL Premier League is an open-source learning platform where users solve SQL challenges using real Indian Premier League cricket data. Instead of practicing with standard datasets, learners write queries to analyze actual IPL matches, answering questions about top run scorers, best finishers, and clutch bowlers. It is designed for people wanting to learn SQL through practical, sports-related problems rather than traditional corporate examples.

Things snowballed quickly, I started talking to publishers, then worked like crazy through all of 2024, almost the hardest I've ever worked in my career, and launched the game in December 2024. i wanted to change the habit of reaching for my phone in the morning and doomscrolling away an hour so i built an app to help me. now i have to literally touch grass before accessing my most distracting apps the app is built in swiftui, uses the screen time apis provided by apple and google vision to recognise grass or not i'd love to get your thoughts on the concept.
