In plain words

SQLite disk page explorer is a tool for examining the internal structure of SQLite database files at the page level. It's designed for developers, database administrators, and anyone curious about how SQLite stores data on disk. The tool lets users inspect individual pages, view their contents, and understand the organization of SQLite databases, making it useful for debugging, learning, or optimizing database performance.

From the sources

A small GUI application built in redbean that lets you explore your SQLite databases "page by page" the way SQLite sees them. SQLite (and most databases) store data in disk-block-sized pages, usually 4KB, which helps make reads and writes as fast as possible. Normally developers interact with databases on the "schema level" - tables, rows, and SQL. But taking a peek at the "page level" can give you some interesting insights: Thanks to the magic of redbean, cosmopolitan and αcτµαlly pδrταblε εxεcµταblε , it's just a single 6.5 MB executable that runs natively on Windows, Linux, MacOS, various BSDs, on both ARM64 and x64. It's also a zip file that contains the Lua code that runs the app,…from github.com

I have been working on SQL Explorer, an open source, Django-based reporting and query tool for (gulp!) almost ten years. It's a tool that fits just right for me and many others, and I love and use almost every day. Write SQL, share results, do some analysis, get insight. No surprises. A live demo instance is here (no login or anything required): https://demo.sqlexplorer.io/ And here's a fairly unprofessional, but very enthusiastic, video tour: https://sql-explorer.s3.amazonaws.com/Sql+Explorer+5.mp4 The UI is constrained enough that there's very little to learn,…

I was at FB/Meta from late 2013 to early 2023, mostly working in the compiler/runtime spaces. I got hit in the spring 2023 layoff wave. I immediately started making games in my newfound free time (a lifelong interest, and I even worked in AA(A?) back ca. ~2000), and in October 2023 I stumbled upon the idea of a roguelike pachinko/plinko game inspired by Luck Be A Landlord. Things snowballed quickly, I started talking to publishers, then worked like crazy through all of 2024, almost the hardest I've ever worked in my career, and launched the game in December 2024. It's sold…
