The natural language search engine for your thoughts
String Theories launched on July 22, 2024 with 116 votes, #643 of 5,184 launches that month and more than 75% of that year's launches. The site was not reachable when checked in September 2026.
What it does
In the past, I've found that I constantly want to write down my thoughts, but rarely interact with them/remember where I store them. String Theories is a place to store thoughts, challenge them in conversation, and search for them with natural language.

- EFEvryca – fractal thinking tool to brainstorm and organize thoughts2022 · evryca.com · ▲130
Made a tool to organize thoughts. Actually it is a mind tree, but in a more web-friendly form. It has pivoted from what I originally started building at evryca.com. Some years ago I got the idea of fractal conversation, instead of old-school tree/ladder-like comments. I wanted to see only comments related to the current level. I started making "something" with fractal comments. This "something" was a project discussion platform. But it turned out that even I myself don't use it, and the idea of fractal comments stuck there unused. And recently it dawned on me that it may be a…

PaperLens2025 · thepaperlens.com · ▲11Hey HN, I built PaperLens ([thepaperlens.com](https://thepaperlens.com/)) after one too many frustrating sessions trying to find what I actually needed in academic research. Whether I was doing a literature review, trying to quickly find a solid source to back up a point in a discussion, or just attempting to understand a complex subject, traditional keyword searches often felt like searching for a needle in a haystack. PaperLens uses RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) and the latest AI models to provide more precise, semantic search results. It also has an AI chatbot that…

Many years ago, I made VJ softwares (to mix live visuals in clubs) for unexpected platforms like the Game Boy Advance, the Playstation 2 and the Raspberry Pi. This year, I’m back with a new web-app: Pikimov. Inspired by Photopea (a free Photoshop clone), I created this web-based motion design & video editor as an alternative to After Effects, to fill empty void. It's free, without signup, without cloud uploads (your files stay on your machine), and your projects are not used for AI models training.
