In plain words
Pulse is a specialized Hacker News newsfeed built by a student developer. It curates content from Hacker News in a focused format for users who want a streamlined way to follow discussions and stories from the community. The tool is designed for people interested in technology, startups, and programming who prefer a customized news experience rather than browsing the full Hacker News site directly.

hcker.news – an ergonomic, timeline-based Hacker News front page2025 · hcker.news · ▲180Hi folks, I've built an alternative Hacker News front page. It is inspired by and meant to be a replacement for hckrnews.com. I built this because HN is woefully underfeatured, but most sites that try to improve it seem to assume that the visual design is the problem. hcker.news tries to maintain HN's familiarity while adding useful enhancements. There are three primary views: - Timeline View: Browse top stories by votes or comments grouped by day, week, or month (e.g., top 20 per day, top 100 per week). - Aggregate View: See top stories by votes or comments over custom time ranges. - Front…

Pulsefeed has been developed on and off in my spare time over the last 4 months, I'm finally happy with it's basic set of features, and was wondering what the Hacker News community thought? Thanks :)

My buddy paulsingh and I have been working on this for a few weeks, got something up and running and wanted to show you. The problem we're solving: When you need customer service (your flight got canceled, strange fees on your bill, etc) you just want to talk to a real person. Waiting on hold wastes your time AND your concentration; you can't be coding in the zone when part of your brain is waiting for an operator. Our solution: We wanted to make it "one click" to reach a real person. How it works: You click on who you want to talk to (even a specific department, like the billing dept at…

I recently decided to try out Google Tasks as my only task management system, and while I find some things about the interface great, it really isn't suited for someone like me who has multiple lists with lots of elements on each. So, I whipped this together real fast and I can't imagine using Google Tasks without it anymore. I realized you might want it too, so I put it on the web. Enjoy :)
