Substructure
I was looking for a way to add AI agents to multiple systems that I maintain. I had a few requirements: - I work in multiple programming languages, so it needs to work for all of them. - I can control how tools access my system. - I can override the agent loop to try different patterns. - I can iterate on the loop without handling durability, streaming, and the rest of the nitty gritty. - I can iterate locally before deploying. - I can self host. Nothing existed that worked across programming languages, so I built it. It's not an SDK. It's a server that handles durability, streaming, MCP…

What it does
Substructure runs AI agents in the cloud instead of on someone's laptop. Write a TOML file, run subs apply, and you have a Slack agent connected to MCP servers your team uses. Override any step of the agent loop with a webhook into your own system. Self-host it or let us run it.
subs is an agent harness for the cloud. It runs an unprivileged agent loop with no system access. It uses MCP servers for tools. It can run locally or as a client and server.

Git for AI AgentsMay 2026 · github.com · ▲129hi guys. been working on something i think is fundamentally missing in today's workflow with ai agents. vcs. i find myself struggling with questions that agents can't answer like "why did you do it?", "when did u delete this folder? why?", etc. or trying to /rewind (after a /compact...) or basically `bisect` to find when and why something was done by the agent in the current / previous session. just like git did for code, i think we are the same core capabilities with ai agents so... i developed an open source solution for that (currently supporting claude code) would love to…
20+ Claude Code agents coordinating on real work (open source)Feb 2026 · github.com · ▲53Single-agent LLMs suck at long-running complex tasks. We’ve open-sourced a multi-agent orchestrator that we’ve been using to handle long-running LLM tasks. We found that single LLM agents tend to stall, loop, or generate non-compiling code, so we built a harness for agents to coordinate over shared context while work is in progress. How it works: 1. Orchestrator agent that manages task decomposition 2. Sub-agents for parallel work 3. Subscriptions to task state and progress 4. Real-time sharing of intermediate discoveries between agents We tested this on a Putnam-level math problem, but the…

Clipto MCP▲655Hey HN, We recently built Clipto. It’s a tool that lets you search over terabytes of video, audio, and images on your computer, without relying on the cloud. Motivation: we probably all had this similar experience, we know a moment exists in a video or audio, but finding it takes hours scrubbing the timeline. You can send all the media to process in the cloud, but it’s slow, expensive and raises privacy concerns. So we decided to build our own on-device media search engine. How it works (high level): 1. We ingest video, audio, image; normalize formats via ffmpeg; run content analysis to…

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…
