A simple JavaScript tool for converting any layout you have to drag-to-swap layout
Meet Swapy, a framework-agnostic tool that converts any layout into a drag-to-swap one with just a few lines of code. Below, I'm showing you a simple layout, but yours can be as complex as you want it to be. By default, items are draggable from any spot. You can specify a handle by adding an element with data-swapy-handle (see content-b below). You can customize the slot you are currently selecting by styling [data-swapy-highlighted] in your CSS. Get the container element that contains your slots and items, and pass it to createSwapy() . By default, it will use `dynamic` animation. You can change it using the animation config option. You can listen to swap events to do things like storing…from swapy.tahazsh.com

Swap.js – a JavaScript micro-framework (HTML fragments over the wire)2023 · github.com · ▲127Hi HN! I created this lib in the need of a simple and tiny framework to easily do AJAX-style navigation / replacement of fragments in the page, in a web application. For people who don't want to use client-side-rendering and complex frameworks à la React, there are nowadays a few "HTML-over-the-wire" libraries, like HTMX, Unpoly or this super-tiny one Swap.js :) One other key thing is that no external tool is needed: no bundler, no webpack, no TypeScript compiler, no minification needed. Just write HTML, JS (+ your preferred server-side language: PHP, Python, etc.) and it works. The…

Talanoa▲343Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

Many years ago, I made VJ softwares (to mix live visuals in clubs) for unexpected platforms like the Game Boy Advance, the Playstation 2 and the Raspberry Pi. This year, I’m back with a new web-app: Pikimov. Inspired by Photopea (a free Photoshop clone), I created this web-based motion design & video editor as an alternative to After Effects, to fill empty void. It's free, without signup, without cloud uploads (your files stay on your machine), and your projects are not used for AI models training.
