The Capital Register
A verified database of 10,000+ active investors worldwide
What it does
The Capital Register is a structured, one time-purchase database covering 10,000+ investors, VC funds, angel networks, family offices, and corporate venture arms. Each profile includes fund thesis, typical cheque size, sector focus, stage, and, where publicly available or opted-in. a named partner contact. No subscription, no lead-gen gate, no scraped list going stale in a drawer. The dataset is refreshed quarterly and delivered instantly as a clean spreadsheet the moment you buy it.
Ten years of firsthand fundraising compiled into one clean register: fund name, thesis, cheque size, sector focus, and public deal history for genuinely active investors worldwide. 3,200+ profiles include a named partner contact. Every other profile still includes a website and public submission route. Institutional investors rarely publish a direct email, by design. No personal spam-lists, no bounced emails. Each entry is a structured profile a founder can actually act on. Fund name, investment thesis in plain language, and the kind of company they're actually looking for right now. Typical first cheque range and the funding stage they invest at, from pre-seed through growth. Primary and…from thecapitalregister.co.uk

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
