Time tracking for the masses

http://www.timeclover.com We made a time tracking tool to track hobbies and goals. No billable hours or other enterprise nonsense, just simplicity and what we feel are great graphs and visualizations of how you spend your time. I'm a big fan of seinfeld's method and this is supposed to take it a step further. Instead of planning activities, guilt yourself into not ruining your beautiful history. We’re still expanding the idea, and would love some feedback. Unfortunately everything is somewhat empty until you have tracked for a couple of days, so here is my public profile view to give you an…

In plain words

Time Clover is a time tracking tool designed for people who want to monitor hobbies and personal goals rather than billable work hours. It focuses on simplicity and visual graphs showing how users spend their time, inspired by the Seinfeld Method where tracking consistency itself becomes motivating. The tool emphasizes building a personal history of activities that users won't want to break, rather than requiring advance planning. It's aimed at individuals seeking straightforward time awareness without enterprise features.

  • Dayflow – A git log for your day2025 · github.com · ▲480

Hi HN! I've been building Dayflow, a macOS app that automatically tracks what you're actually working on (not just which apps you have open). Here's what it does: - It creates a semantic timeline of your day; - It does it by understanding the content on your screen (with local or cloud VLMs); - This allows you to see exactly where your time went without any manual logging. Traditional time trackers tell you "3 hours in Chrome" which is not very helpful. Dayflow actually understands if you're reading documentation, debugging code, or scrolling HN. Instead of "Chrome: 3 hours", you get…

Hey Hacker News! This is my first post here. About 5 months ago, I left my job because I was completely burnt out. After taking some time off, I started freelancing. But I found tracking my time to be a real hassle as I kept forgetting to start or stop the timer and often had no idea what I’d worked on. So, I decided to build Taim as a side project, while also working now on some freelancing gigs. Taim is going to be automated time tracking tool for freelancers and teams. It’s designed to make tracking time effortless and accurate, so you can focus on your work and not worry about the clock.…

  • Timeretain – Track, visualize, and export your hours2023 · timeretain.com · ▲105

Hi HN, I made this because I needed to track how much I work and on what. Timeretain allows you to track time using a fast, private feed of time cards. It displays your stats next to it, and you can filter to zoom in on a description or tag. You can always export what's in view. It's different from other time trackers because it's powerful and minimalist. Here's how I use it. I need to hold myself accountable. I want to know how much I've worked in a week, and Timeretain immediately shows that — no need to create extensive 'reports'. Next, a log of what I did is useful for standup. I can get…
