Hi HN, My partner, Jess, is a graduating university student in Illustration. For her senior thesis, we put together a basic AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) iPhone app for autistic kids. The initial release is basically a hierarchical wordbook with sounds. But we'd love to add extra features, any code commits are more than welcome, especially considering that we wont have any development time in the nearish future. Hey all, I built this. It’s not trying to capture every autistic experience (that’d be impossible). It’s based on my own lived experience as well as that of friends on the spectrum. I'm trying to give people a feel for what masking, decision fatigue, and burnout can look like day-to-day. That’s hard to explain in words, but easier to show through choices and stats. This app is a graphical programming environment for kids to learn coding by creating animations. Although we released it to the app store it's still more of a beta version and we would love to solicit feedback from HNers with iPads. To me, programming is something that kids could really enjoy but the obstacles in their way (getting a programming environment, publishing their code, learning syntax) make the barriers to entry unnecessarily high. I built didtheywinornot.com this week in my spare hours before work. Currently it only does baseball scores, but as new seasons start in the fall, I think I'll expand it to other sports. Would love some feedback and any ideas as to how to make it better, keeping in mind that this is meant to be single purpose and not at all bloated. Did I miss a stat that people really care about? Is the amount of information good enough?
