Tour of CLIPS
Learn how to write Rules Engines with CLIPS in your browser! I found the Tour of Go super useful when learning Go, so I went for something similar for evangelizing the awesomeness of CLIPS. A few things I'm proud of with this project: - No front-end frameworks - Compiled WASM binary; your code isn't sent to a back-end server - Code editor/syntax highlighter written from scratch (that I'm sure you'll find bugs in ;)) This is my first attempt at this, and I'd like to expand on it in the future. Let me know what you think! About CLIPS: CLIPS is a programming language useful for building…

Let me know what you think! About CLIPS: CLIPS is a programming language useful for building Rules Engines and Expert Systems. It's written in C, so it's pretty darned easy to put data in/get data out from other languages written in C. It was started in the mid-80s at NASA, and it was released to the public in the mid-90s. It's still in active development by the original developer.

hi all, I've always wanted to make my own game, but couldn't afford a thousand-dollar adobe (flash+photoshop) license. I'm not a talented programmer, have no degree in CS. But I understand some elements of design. So I got me a copy of ImpactJS, and after about 5 months of steep learning curve (at least for me), I managed to come up with a game. I also integrated it with a highscore and badge system, similar to what you get at Kongregate. You need to login with Google/OpenID to earn badges/scores. link is: http://www.hotbazooka.com/privatejoe hope to hear some feedback/questions from you guys!

Initially, I was interested in using YouTube videos to learn languages using the simple shadowing technique. It sounds fancy, but it's simply listening and repeating. However, I found it pretty inconvenient to use the vanilla YouTube player to replay video parts. Especially when I needed to do it several times. Later I figured out that it's pretty handy to also practice instruments, given how much material is in there. Not just for mimicking songs but also for better following tutorials. So the idea is simple, you can save clips you want to practice to loop as many times as you want and come…
- IBI Built a Sequencer for the Web2024 · minitap.io · ▲5
Hey HN! Last week I was working on a website and needed a way to synchronise visuals with live music. I've used MIDI controllers for this before, but I am travelling right now and don't have mine with me. So I had the crazy idea to build a browser extension that uses the keyboard as input and includes a sequencer. I gave myself 24 to work on it. It ended up taking longer (of course), specially since I ended up creating a demo, a small landing, docs, and an intro video. Took me one week from idea to launch (pushed quite a bit tbh). Features: - Works as a browser extension. Atm distributed…

Hey HN, I 3d scanned the interior of the Great Pyramid / Khufu's pyramid for the Giza Project this summer and just finished the guided version to share. Would love feedback and/or problems you encounter. I used both a Leica BLK 360 and Matterport Pro 2 to do the scanning and the Matterport SDK for the web viewer. Matterport's web display with Three.js has been the most accessible to a wide audience in the past (previous iterations are in Unity and Unreal, but difficult to download over slower connections). I've been interviewing social studies teachers around the 6th grade level to…

Last time I posted this it didn't garner much interest. There have been lots of improvements and fixes since the last release. Quick list of features: - Workspaces - Tabs - Nested Folders - Lots of context menus - Response history - Plugins - Runs fully in the browser and runs offline if necessary - Chrome and Firefox extension to bypass CORS restrictions - Desktop builds for all platforms - GraphQL support - Import collections exported from Postman and Insomnia - Simple user friendly interface I built this because I love Insomnia but wanted a portable version that I could run in the…

APIs are a little like the open road—always waiting, full of opportunity, but hardly utilized. So here’s America, composed of several APIs that paint a vivid, real-time picture of a good old-fashioned road trip. Get local classifieds and photos. Tune into local radio stations. Talk wit other drivers. And more. Exploring the country by car was an invaluable experience for me during my time in the states. I’ve since moved to Barcelona, and find myself missing the territory. This is my attempt at recreating the magic.
