Triage.flow – Chat with Any GitHub Repo Using Faiss and LlamaIndex

A few weeks ago I got rejected from a role and the feedback was that I needed a deeper understanding of FAISS and LlamaIndex. So I built triage.flow — an AI assistant that lets you explore and understand GitHub repositories through a chat interface. It clones a repo, indexes it using FAISS + BM25 + tree-sitter parsing, and powers a full UI where you can: - Ask natural-language questions like “how does auth work?” or “explain @src/components/Modal.tsx” - Mention specific files/folders with @filename.ts (autocomplete supported) - See how the agent thinks in real time (Thought →…

Triage.flow – Chat with Any GitHub Repo Using Faiss and LlamaIndex launched on June 4, 2025 with 5 votes and more than 75% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.

I built this game as a playful way to train code reading skills. You're dropped into a random location in a real GitHub repo where some lines code are hidden. The goal is to pick up clues from the surrounding code and fill in the missing lines as quickly as possible. It currently has curated game content for Python, TypeScript, JavaScript (by most metrics the top 3 languages on GitHub). I had the idea when it dawned on me that reviewing and understanding code spat out by an LLM is a key skill for the AI era. (I sincerely hope you're critically reviewing what your favorite LLM is serving…

hi guys. been working on something i think is fundamentally missing in today's workflow with ai agents. vcs. i find myself struggling with questions that agents can't answer like "why did you do it?", "when did u delete this folder? why?", etc. or trying to /rewind (after a /compact...) or basically `bisect` to find when and why something was done by the agent in the current / previous session. just like git did for code, i think we are the same core capabilities with ai agents so... i developed an open source solution for that (currently supporting claude code) would love to…

Simon(sfarshid) and I spend a lot of time on GitHub. As data nerds we put together a quick tool to explore your repository’s data. How it works: - Data Loading: We use dlt to pull data (issues, PRs, commits, stars) from GitHub - Semantic Layer: Relta wraps the underlying dataset into a semantic layer so the LLM doesn’t hallucinate. - Text-to-SQL: A text-to-SQL agent transforms your plain-English question into a query using the semantic layer - Generative Charts: assistant-ui dynamically generates a chart based on the SQL query - Refinements: If the semantic layer can’t handle your question,…

Hey HN! Pilots everywhere are required to keep a logbook of all their flying hours, aircraft, airports, and so on. Since I track everything digitally (some people still just use paper logbooks!), I put together some data visualizations and a few 3D globes to show my flying history. This globe is probably my favourite so far: https://jameshard.ing/pilot/globes/all If you’ve got ideas for other graphs or ways to show this kind of data, I’d love to hear them!

  • I was the main contributor to workout.lol, an open-source fitness app to easily build a workout routine. The project had traction (1.4k GitHub stars, 95 forks, ~20K visits/month), but was eventually sold due to video licensing hurdles. The new owner stopped maintaining it, and the repo went abandoned. Over the next 9 months, I sent 15 emails to try to save it : no replies. Feature requests & issues were ignored. The community was left with a "broken" tool let's say. I couldn't just let it die So I built the new version from scratch with the same open-source spirit, but a better…
