What it does

Implement fine-grained, scalable and extensible access controls within minutes to days instead of months. Inspired by Google’s consistent, global authorization system, Zanzibar . No more slowing down or inefficiencies in your product development because your authorization is embedded in your codebase. With a centralized service, you can easily test, debug, and iterate your authorization. Build granular permissions and policies using our flexible authorization language, without a steep learning curve. Supports RBAC, ABAC and ReBAC. Permify was born out of our repeated struggles with authorization. Like any other piece of software, authorization starts small but as things grow scaling it becomes a real pain and begins to hinder product development processes. Ad-hoc authorization systems scattered throughout your app’s codebase are hard to manage, reason about, and iterate on as the company grows. Also you will need to have more specific access controls as things grow. Traditional approaches like RBAC is inefficient for defining granular permissions such as resource-specific, hierarchical, or context-aware permissions.…

Hey Everyone, Almost year ago we launched Permify an open-source authorization service to build fine-grained and scalable user permissions and access control systems over here(https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=32096610) My co-founders and I had a enterprise solution agency where we worked with a bunch of fortune 500 companies. Each projects we made we have to re-invent the wheel for access control and authorization. Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

Hi HN! I made many small web games in the past with Unity or Phaser. But this time I wanted to make something completely on my own. So I coded a basic game framework in plain JavaScript, and used it to make Almost Pong. This was a really fun project that taught me a lot about JavaScript, and I plan to make more minimalist games with this framework. Interesting fact: Almost Pong doesn't load any assets, all sprites and sounds are generated with code. Happy to answer questions, and please let me know if you have any feedback on the game. Thanks!
