- WMWe made a photo search engine for homes for sale2025 · ▲71
We're a small team of 3 engineers, and wanted to make a better way to look for for properties online. Traditional portals (esp. outside of US) are just a bit rubbish for doing anything other than basic searching. So we've: - Created a crawler that reads through estate agents websites to find homes for sale - Parses that through a series of LLMs and other models to understand each home in depth (e.g. floor type, location, total sqft) - Parses every photo through an embeddings vector space so that people can search for whatever they want. Hey HN, I built Underpriced AI to solve a problem I had as a part-time reseller: standing in a thrift store trying to figure out if something is worth buying. How it works: - Snap a photo of any item - AI identifies the brand, model, maker, era, etc. - Pulls recent sold prices from eBay and other marketplaces - Gives you an instant valuation with confidence score You can also generate SEO-optimized eBay listings and publish directly from the app. Tech stack: Next.js, Claude API for vision/analysis, eBay API for market research and listing. The "Quick Scan" feature is designed for mobile…
- IBI built an AI extension to protect your wallet from sneaky clauses2025 · aayen.org · ▲5
I got tired of slogging through walls of legal text whenever I had to sign something important, so I built a Chrome extension that uses AI to: - Spot red flags and suspicious clauses – It automatically highlights risk areas in real-time as you read through an online contract. - Score the contract’s safety – Based on industry-standard risk parameters, it gives you an at-a-glance score so you can see how risky the document might be. - Simplify the jargon – It generates a quick summary of the key points, saving you from reading every paragraph in detail. No more signing on hunches or bets!…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…
