US-BR, a fork of US-intl for brazilian / portuguese programmers

Hi. I've been using the US-intl keyboard layout for a while, as ABTN2 (the standard Brazilian Portuguese) layout treats ' and " as dead keys, which makes programming incredibly annoying for me. However, US-intl makes accented letters like ã, à and â annoying to type, requiring holding Alt as you press the respective keys. As a solution, I decided to make a small fork of US-intl that changes ~, ` and ^ to dead keys, while leaving ' and " as non-dead keys (as you can easily type á with Alt+a). It's nothing major or substantial, but I thought I'd share it in case some other brazilian /…

In plain words

US-BR is a modified keyboard layout based on US-intl, designed for Brazilian and Portuguese-speaking programmers. It reconfigures dead keys so that single and double quotes remain as regular characters for easier coding, while tilde, backtick, and caret become dead keys instead. This allows programmers to type accented Portuguese characters like ã, à, and â more conveniently than the standard Brazilian ABTN2 layout, without sacrificing the ease of using quotation marks in code.

  • Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…
