Webtools
The operating layer behind your custom website
What it does
Webtools gives custom websites and apps the backend they shouldn't have to rebuild. Keep your frontend completely custom while Webtools handles content, ecommerce, services, portfolios, enquiries, CRM, subscribers, analytics and the operator dashboard behind it. Built for developers and agencies who want to ship client projects faster without rebuilding the same backend and admin workflows every time.
Build a church, blog, agency, ecommerce or SMB website and power catalogue, content, Services and enquiries with Webtools.
Your frontend owns presentation. Webtools keeps products, content, Services, enquiries and day-to-day work organised behind it. Hardcoded pages, shared inboxes and spreadsheets turn every update into another handoff. Webtools gives that work one home. Your team manages the work in Webtools. Your site presents it in the design you shipped. Model products and variants, organise collections and categories, track stock, review customers, move orders through fulfilment, and set shipping and discounts. Create, schedule and publish posts with authors, categories, tags, galleries, SEO fields and media. Deliver them through the Storefront API. Hey HN, This is Adrian and David, and we're excited (and nervous) to show you basetool (https://basetool.io). Basetool helps companies view and manage all their data in one place. Companies have data in tons of places like BI tools, data warehouses, 3rd party services, and their databases. However, because the tools are not connected, it's a hassle to have visibility across the whole organization and even more difficult to safely share that data with the team or external collaborators. The vision is to give basetool access to your data source and get a tool that way above a…

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
