Turn travel photos into a private journey through time

What it does

WhaleWay is a travel journal for iPhone and iPad. Import your photos and it reads their time and place, then draws your journey as a route that you can scrub through, day by day.

WhaleWay is a travel journal that turns your photos into a living, scrubbable travel map.

WhaleWay is a travel journal for iPhone and iPad. Import your photos and it reads their time and place, then draws your journey as a route that you can scrub through, day by day. Each trip is one line that tapers from start to now. Scrub the timeline and the route redraws; revisits to the same place stay readable. Card-style trips, calendar dots that jump to a day, and full-page footstep cards — photo, time, place and note, each in its place. An activity heatmap, travel days per month and a year in review turn your habits into quiet, honest cards. Capture time and GPS become each footstep's fixed reference; everything syncs privately over iCloud between your devices. From a single tap on…from chronosmap.life

 • Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…

 • I made OwnTime to balance between competing priorities in my life. The idea is based on two main influences: the concept of "roles" from "The 5 Choices" (2015), and my repeated failure to effectively implement time blocking due to the necessary flexibility in my role. The app allows you to define time budgets, which are not much more than a few mutually exclusive countdown timers. The UX is essentially that of a chess clock for an arbitrary number of players with configurable time. The whole point of the app is to kick you out of the running role/priority when its time is up. One…
