X (@thexjs)
Full-stack React framework built on Bun. Fast & simple.
What it does
x is an open-source, full-stack React framework built natively on Bun. Instead of stitching together 5 separate tools, x handles SSR, file-based routing, API endpoints, server functions, auth, and image proxying in a single process. Key features: • Zero-config single Bun process architecture • Astro-style frontend speed + Next.js-style backend DX • Build-time secret isolation for server actions • Built-in @thexjs/mcp server so AI agents write valid code out of the box
X is a fullstack React framework for Bun. Your folder structure is the router, your API lives beside your pages, and static pages, SSR, and server functions all run in one process . bun create thexjs-app downloads the template and resolves deps in one command. Everything X ships is designed to compose: routing, rendering, data, and auth all speak the same file-tree language. Pages, loaders, API routes and server functions live in the file tree. Pages ship as static HTML. Mark what hydrates and users download JavaScript only for those parts. Import server code into client components. Typed, CSRF-safe, no endpoint glue. SQLite and PostgreSQL with versioned migrations, straight from loaders.…from thexjs.abdelkabir.me

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
