Zerosum

I've been a YNAB user for years but couldn't justify $109/yr for an app where I never used bank sync. So I built my own. ZeroSum is zero-based budgeting (same envelope method) with a full YNAB import wizard — bring your entire budget history over. 50+ currencies, shared budgets, analytics, keyboard shortcuts. $40/yr. Stack: React (Vite + TanStack Router) on Cloudflare Pages, Hono + tRPC on Render. Happy to talk about the technical decisions. Try it free for 35 days: https://zerosum.so

What it does

Zerosum is a zero-based budgeting app built for people who want a clear plan before they spend. We use the same give-every-dollar-a-job method, but with a simpler workflow and lower pricing. Basic is $40/year and includes unlimited budgets/accounts, goals, analytics, recurring + split transactions, loan tracking, and keyboard-first shortcuts. You can also invite up to 5 members on one subscription and import your full YNAB history. Pro with automatic bank sync is coming soon.

Zero-based budgeting app: plan every dollar, share with family, import from YNAB or Actual Budget. From $30/year, and your first month of Pro is free.

Plan every dollar, hit your savings goals, and share one budget with your family. From $30 a year. Your free month is on Pro, which renews at $75 a year. Payment method required, cancel anytime before your first payment. Every quote is a real review from the App Store, word for word. No more wondering where your paycheck went. No more end-of-month panic. Budget another amount on a weekly to yearly rhythm, fill categories back up to a target, or reach a balance by a date. Simple goals for how people actually budget. Income flow, net worth, spending trends, cash flow, and financial forecasts. 16 built-in reports plus custom dashboards you assemble from 20+ widgets. Explore the analytics…from zerosum.so

Hey guys, I built an app that follows the envelope budgeting philosophy like YNAB and with beautiful expense breakdown displayed in sankey, line, bar charts. It also tracks your crypto wallet (BTC & ERC20), bank connections through Plaid and brokerage accounts through SnapTrade. Create unlimited categories, cash/loan/credit accounts and start budgeting at https://buildyourbudget.com/

Hi everyone! I’ve been working on a small personal finance tool called Tender for the better part of a year. I got tired of doing expenses by hand - going through several accounts to figure out refunds, subscription cancellations, getting paid back via venmo, etc. I’d get to the point where I’d have to go through months of transactions at a time if I got lazy and fell behind. The workflow in Tender is centered around getting to inbox-zero. Transactions leave the inbox when they’re categorized and there’s a basic rules engine for automation. You can also do things like add notes, set…

  • Hello my name is Ben Ward for the past 3 years I have been remastering the financial game Wall Street Raider created by Michael Jenkins originally on DOS in 1986. It has been a rough journey but I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I just recently redid the website and thought maybe the full story of how this project came to be would interest you all. Thank you for reading.
