Zorium - Alternative to Discord
Echoed is a lightweight Discord alternative built on Tauri, not Electron. ~150MB RAM vs Discord's 700MB+. No ads, no tracking, no ID verification. Voice, video, screen share, task boards, and a bot API — free forever.
Zorium - Alternative to Discord launched on April 21, 2025 with 7 votes and more than 75% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.
What it does
Discord eats 700MB+ of RAM. Echoed uses ~150MB. Built on Tauri (Rust), not Electron. No ads, no tracking, no face scans. Voice, video, screen share, task boards — everything your squad needs without the bloat. Six channel types. Task boards. Calendar events. Custom bots. Moderation tools. All in under 150MB. Markdown, syntax-highlighted code, LaTeX, spoilers, @mentions, reactions, replies, forwarding, pins, bookmarks, search, attachments, link previews. Sub-20ms voice. 4K@60fps screen sharing. Drop into any channel — no call requests. Per-device mic/speaker/camera pickers. Kanban with priorities, due dates, assignees. Drag between Backlog, To Do, In Progress, Review, Done. 1-on-1 and group…from zoriumapp.com

Hey HN! I have been working on this project for a while, and I think this solves a problem that a lot of people here have: not being able to easily search Discord servers. Currently, I only scrape servers that are marked as "discoverable" on Discord. However, if there's enough interest in the project, I'm open to adding specific servers by request. I'm primarily focused on informational servers rather than casual hangout spaces, such as open source projects, Minecraft mods, and support communities for tools, services, or platforms (for example, hosting providers). I have placed restrictions…

Liz – Collaborative Lisp coding on Discord2023 · github.com · ▲44This is a Discord bot I made, which lets you write and evaluate Lisp code in collaborative sessions on Discord. I wrote it in a short amount of time, partly for learning purposes, but also because I found the idea exciting and it was fun to hack around. I'd be happy to get your feedback, especially on how to improve the deletion mechanism (maybe make deletion sexpr-based?). I've tried to make the README detailed enough so that it's easy to make some changes and run your own version.

Talanoa▲346Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

Hi everyone, I built PyXL — a hardware processor that executes a custom assembly generated from Python programs, without using a traditional interpreter or virtual machine. It compiles Python -> CPython Bytecode -> Instruction set designed for direct hardware execution. I’m sharing an early benchmark: a GPIO test where PyXL achieves a 480ns round-trip toggle — compared to 14-25 micro seconds on a MicroPython Pyboard - even though PyXL runs at a lower clock (100MHz vs. 168MHz). The design is stack-based, fully pipelined, and preserves Python's dynamic typing without static type restrictions.…
