24 alternatives to BGP Scout – BGP Network Browser
Hi HN, When working with BGP data, I kept running into the same friction: it’s easy to get raw data, but surprisingly hard to browse networks over time — especially by when they appeared, where they operate, and what they actually look like at a glance. I built a small tool, bgpscout.io, to scratch that itch. It lets you: Browse ASNs by registration date and geography See where a given network appears to have presence View commonly scattered public data about an ASN in one place Save searches to track when new networks matching certain criteria appear All of this data is public already; the…
BGP Scout is a browser for exploring BGP network data. It lets users search for autonomous system numbers by registration date and geography, view network presence across regions, and consolidate scattered public… Below are 24 products that do a similar job, ranked by how close each is in meaning and then by launch-day votes. Hey all, wanted to share my recent weekend hack project. I wanted to improve upon the existing space for looking up information about IP addresses and ASNs. The backend is written in Rust and pulls BGP data every 8 hours from the RIPE RIS project to build up a routing table and also adds geolocation information. The frontend is using React and Tailwind. Would love any feedback or suggestions on what to improve.

I built Site Spy after missing a visa appointment slot because a government page changed and I didn’t notice for two weeks. It watches webpages for changes and shows the result like a diff. The part I think HN might find interesting is that it can monitor a specific element on a page, not just the whole page, and it can expose changes as RSS feeds. So instead of tracking an entire noisy page, you can watch just a price, a stock status, a headline, or a specific content block. When it changes, you can inspect the diff, browse the snapshot history, or follow the updates in an RSS reader. It’s…

Hey everyone, I've made this website that I hope can help some people. The original inspiration comes from being tired of having a specific site (and finding it!!) that serves my needs for a single purpose. Straight forward tools, no fuss. The objective is to be fully in-browser, no login and if possible without contacting a remote server. PGP Key Analyser - Analyze PGP keys directly in your browser - finally I can see the infos without having to download the key on my device Proton Date - Check ProtonMail account creation dates - pretty niche I admit Favicon Hash - Generate website favicon…

I've frequently found myself using [nvitop](https://github.com/XuehaiPan/nvitop) to diagnose GPU/CPU contention issues. The two best things about it are: - It's easy to install if I can access pip in the container - It makes a compelling screenshot (which helps me communicate with coworkers.) With those two lessons in mind: Here is Sping! Purpose: Help observe and diagnose latency issues at layer 4+ (TCP/HTTP/HTTPS) Two good things about it: - It's easy to install if you have pip. Hi HN! A few days ago I saw a graph[0] that showed the # of job postings on HN was declining. I started wondering what other trends I could glean from the data, so I created this! You can filter through the top level comments by keyword; for example you can filter by "remote" to see the massive spike around March 2020. Another interesting thing I found is that I can compare hiring across cities. I hope you enjoy! I made it so that the links to your search are sharable so if you have some interesting data you should be able to just link the page you're on! [0]…

I'm launching Wirewiki.com today! Wirewiki makes the internet’s hidden infrastructure browsable. I quit my job 5 years ago to scale Nslookup.io. But after reaching 600k monthly users, I hit a ceiling. I couldn't naturally expand beyond DNS because of the domain name. So I went back to the drawing board: how would I make it today? Not as a collection of tools, but as a browsable graph. I've spent hundreds of hours and commits building that. It's not even at 10% of what I want it to be, but more than enough to be useful, and (in my biased opinion) much better than what's out there. Wirewiki…

ScoutFox ▲74Hi HN! We’re building ScoutFox, an alert layer that continuously scouts your interests, filters signals from noise, and reports findings. The ideal user is anyone wanting to monitor something specific to find some alpha before it's obvious. It could a VC looking to invest early on hot startups or a newsroom looking for a breaking story on a niche subject. Google Alerts and RSS feeds could find new changes associated with a keyword but they're bad at determining whether a new piece of information is genuinely significant relative to what the user already knows and cares about. That's the…

Hey HN. I created this website. https://pj4533.com/hn-overlooked/ It's just a simple web app that discovers overlooked posts on Hacker News. I created it because I was often coming to Hacker News and realizing that I was missing a lot of stuff, and there just didn't seem to be an easy way to surface content that was interesting to me but just didn't bubble up to the top of the page. So I built this. I got the idea a while back, one night when I was recording (you can watch it here, it's pretty funny: https://youtu.be/FDyDb4sX30w?si=E3rby-DaGWA6gy0R ). But I…
