Products that do what BikeBus - A organizing tool for BikeBusses does
I started building “BikeBus” as a way for groups to organize children’s BikeBus to school. 1.0 release will be web only. I am not a web developer. Features: 1. Plot routes 2. Make a BikeBus 3. Create an Organization 4. Bulletin Boards for Messaging The Organization feature will have some premium functions as it can handle multiple BikeBus and meant to help school districts track timesheets. Schools will be able to assign staff to help out. New Oregon law allows this. This is a web app using Ionic framework with React. Any broad feedback about pricing and holes in the UI: please let me know!

Hey guys, I built a route planner that is mostly focused on bike touring and using existing bike infrastructure. For each request you're shown what bike tracks/trails your route uses and can further explore them by showing them on map or going to the official trail route. The main idea for the app is to have a friendly and easy to use planner that would make heavy use of official bike trails data (mainly from OpenStreetMap) and make it easy to plan a longer trip using the best possible bike routes out there. Currently the app only works for the Euro region but I'm planning to add North…

Hi, I'm a high school teacher from Australia and I've built what I'd like to think is a pretty nifty ChatGPT powered presentation tool for teachers. I'd love it if you could have a look at it and give me some of your feedback. I don't think there's much overlap with the HN crowd and school teachers, but I've been coming here for many years and thought I'd post here and see what you all think. Check it out if you have a minute and I'd be super happy to hear your feedback too. https://www.slidehero.ai/ You can jump in and have a play with the tool all you like ;) Cheers, Eli

Over the past week I built a project to let people self-host an entire maps stack so they don't have to send data to the big G. Right now it includes a base map, geocoder and directions server. Currently only bicycle directions are supported, and I'm only hosting tiles for Seattle because I'm unemployed and can't afford to host data for the whole planet. Check it out! https://maps.ellenhp.me/ https://github.com/ellenhp/headway Ultimately I'd like to really focus on transit routing (not implemented) but I'll probably throw a driving mode in there too.

In Switzerland PubliBike is a popular bike-sharing company. Thanks to its openly accessible API one can extrapolate the movements of these bikes around the cities. As a Christmas project I decided to collect this publicly available data and visualize the movement of bikes in the city of Zurich. Purple tracks are classic bikes, while blue tracks are electric bikes. I am not well versed with front-end development so I hope you will excuse the mediocre interface. Happy to take any questions, comments, feedback and thoughts. A good new year to all of you! GitHub repo:…

Long time reader, first time self-promoter. I'm a bicycle mechanic that figured I could make the process of bicycle wheelbuilding faster, more accurate and more satisfying. I do it by sampling digital indicators, rendering the data in useful ways, and injecting domain-specific insights. The UI interaction happens by foot pedal so my paradigm retains the traditional way of working with your hands.

Hey folks! A bit of background: I'm a software engineer by trade, but I'm currently on sabbatical doing a year-long working holiday in Australia. I love riding bikes but only had the most beginner-level knowledge of them before I found a job at a bike shop. This was a fun personal project to try to capture some of what I've learned so far, targeted at fellow beginners. It's going to be incomplete/lacking if you already have some bike knowledge, but I hope you all enjoyed it all the same. Please keep the feedback coming; it's late in Australia, but I want to make sure the bike info is at…

Hey HN, As noted in a previous comment posted on the "Paris Will Become ‘100% Cyclable’" thread [0], I've been contributing to a project (as a volunteer backend developer) to try to accelerate urban change around pedestrian/cyclable/car-free streets. It's "change.org for urban transformation". It started with a Twitter account posting Dall-E-ified versions of streets [1] which picked up steam in the press [2]. And now, we're live with our own site! Happy to answers questions, and other folks from the project might chime in as well. [0]…

Howdy HN, As a small side project, I built a small app to share weekly time schedules. It's been useful for me to help schedule meeting and share semester schedules with friends. I hope some others find some use with it. I have a few more simple ideas to implement with it, and any suggestions are encouraged. Thank you!
