In my spare time I've been trying to solve the problem of network filesystems being too slow. To that end I've created CacheFS. CacheFS keeps a lazy local copy of your network drive in an attempt to make your network drive appear as fast as your local drive. The project is far from consumer-ready, but it has hit a major milestone: It caches reads and doesn't appear to corrupt anything. The startup I work for has an internal, bash-based, cli that basically amounts to shared aliases with a common entrypoint. I've created a quick application that stores data in IPFS (http://ipfs.io) which is a distributed web implementation. It's working as expected, paste some content, get a hash in the url and send to a friend. The content will be there forever and distributed to peers that asks for it. This is an ncdu clone written in Rust that I figured others might find useful! The main things that differentiate it from ncdu are: - It's very fast. I wanted to share a project I have been working on over the past week. It is a simple local memory system that saves your sessions into Markdown files, which can be viewed later. I developed this after using Claude Mem. I really enjoyed working with it, but it was consuming a lot of RAM, and each Claude session was becoming a major resource hog. I also tried other plugins and MCP solutions, but ran into similar issues, either slow performance or concerns about data being sent elsewhere. Because privacy was a big thing for me, I decided to build my own solution that keeps all data local.

Yesterday, I found myself writing a little C throwaway script to test something out. That happens often enough to clutter my HOME and some other directories with these useless text files and binaries. So I thought that I can use a repl instead. Quick google search didn't find any good and tested solutions. So I wrote my own with help of a tcc compiler. Why POSIX Shell? Because it would be far too easy in a normal language (it'd probably take me ~10 minutes to rewrite this in Nim) and where is fun in that?
