Hey everyone, We all see these amazing ideas being posted on Show HN but let's be real - every product has some gripes that could be improved. The gripes could be things like broken flows, unintuitive UX behaviors, or some interactions being too slow - you name it. Everybody has their favourite products, and each of those products (awesome as they may be) have a couple of small things that could be improved to make them even better. As a front-end engineer that worked in multiple product teams, there are a lot of discussions between PM/Designers/Engineers made to ensure everyone's aligned before features/fixes are shipped. I'm building a tool to make this process easier, so teams can ship faster. Ditch the screenshots/screen recordings, and simplify communication in a single tool. Creator here. In a nutshell this extension is a "Like / Dislike" system but for website results. I miss the days of things like the YouTube dislike bar, where you can quickly assess if something is good or not. Currently sitting at ~90 users. To get it off the ground I've scraped the last year of HN to make a set of good links, and used a few content farm blacklists to make a set of bad links. Right now it's semi-useful and should only get better with time. There are some simple measures in place to prevent spam & abuse, but will cross that bridge if it ever comes. All feedback welcome!

We wanted to create a way to browse Show HN articles, even those that might not quite make it to the front page. I build a lot of products in the past, all of them failed. I realised that we didn't listen to our users enough, Maybe not at all. Then thought why not something like HN, where people can post their feature requests and upvote. Did a bit of research and found a couple of product in the market. I was lucky enough to have my site trending on Friday (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=25872922). It’s an icon site that lists open source icons. I wanted to share some stats on the results after 3 days. Worth noting was that I submitted it on a Friday morning (at which point I went for a walk and a coffee; eek). - 24,997 page views. I (embarrassingly) didn’t have GA set up when I first submitted it, so this is probably missing a few hundred page views - 21 “feedback” emails (half of which were spam). Checking on some old material to provide some cross-referencing[1] I got this message: We've temporarily limited requests for old items. I've always taken it for granted that HN contained useful information that I'd be able to retrieve whenever I found the need, but this has brought me up short. Perhaps older discussions will eventually become unavailable. Will Google cache still have them? Will the Wayback machine still have them? How convenient will they be to find in the future. Hi, I spent the last couple of months developing OurClubFundraiser(http://www.ourclubfundraiser.com) and launched it about two weeks ago.I would love to get some feedback from the HN community on how I could improve the site and tweak the concept. We received some brutally honest feedback when we posted here about a month ago with comments along the lines of your concept is great, UI sucks, drop the buggy registration process, fix the fonts, etc. - so we took all that advice to heart and we redid the UI, we changed the registration process and flow entirely by implementing social logins and having it done via a popup modal, and we changed the fonts, and did a bunch of other stuff. Hey HN, Screenshots of bugs are no substitute for reproducing issues, but clearly annotated/laid out images do go a long way for developers to understand what’s going on and start working on them sooner. These remain an odd amount of work/overhead to do well— no one is going to fire up photoshop here, and most QA folks I’ve talked to have a simple trick or two up their sleeve for assembling screenshots/repro content quickly. I have ignored high paying jobs/ several contracting gigs to build Xervmon.com. I would really appreciate help to test the UI for UX. I want folks who can be brutal about the tool and give a feedback on which we can improve the UI and UX. The UI does standout, but to what level it stands out, I am not sure. One catch : You need to sign up to navigate through UI. First I was shy to show my work, then angry and upset when users commented and now am shameless.
