24 alternatives to I turned a prefab shed into an office
About a month ago, I got a 10x20 shed delivered so I could build out a shedquarters office in my backyard. It's been a ton of fun (and work) so far! I'm going to share a lot of it on this thread over the next couple of months until it's done. (Also at https://t.co/qAXSKUZdyk.)
Below are 24 products that do a similar job, ranked by how close each is in meaning and then by launch-day votes. I turned a prefab shed into an office launched in 2021; newer entries below may have overtaken it.

My other half runs a care home in the UK. She was frustrated with some of the remaining paper based processes, and the 'techy' alternatives were off-putting. So we built Care Home Domestic. The project is self funded and has been a fun and exciting journey! It is currently in use at a few homes and feedback so far is really good. There's loads of work still to do, but we've gone out early and aim to be reactive to the feedback of our users.

Hi HN, I am a solopreneur in the evenings and a software engineer during the day. In the past, I have created lots of calculators for my web projects and freelancing friends. These were pretty basic, but users always welcomed them. I also used currently available builders, but the problem was that they were either slow, broke on mobile devices, had nonsense page view limits, or were expensive. Some even ticked all those boxes. So I have decided to create my own, with a simple interface, and called it Creative Widgets (if it ever takes off, I plan to add more exciting stuff like charts, etc,…

When I see what some HN members have done in a weekend on their projects, it makes it hard to confess that it has taken us 1 year to get to this stage. I kept trying to make things perfect, but finally I have seen the light - it will never be perfect and even in its current state, I see so much we need to improve, but it's something. Instead of delaying even more, I thought I would release it to the best critics out there - HN say hello to MyProperty.com Hope to hear your feedback, criticism, thoughts.

Hi all, I have always wanted to create a community dedicating to creating the work place more positive. Right now, it's only jokes. I am working on a revision of this that will just place the community page right in front and do away with the landing page. I welcome and appreciate any cheesy thoughts, critiques or suggestions you might have. In the pipeline: jokes, quotes and ideas on how to make the work place more positive! -V.

After years in the back burner I finally invested some decent time in materializing the idea. I still have a lot I want to add, but this is the opposite of a minimalist project, and I had to draw the release line somewhere. Built with SolidJS, Astro and tRPC, because why not.

Here is the link: http://www.wikihowtodo.com I know a lot of geeks share the same dream -- build the next kick-ass todo-list/project management system. So do I. However, as I was quite positive that my web development skill is worse than 99% of developers' in this community, I decided to build something simple, useless but unique. So I built this. Basically it's a Wikihow scraper, nothing more. It gives you a place to store interesting Wikihow articles and yes, they are converted into todo lists. I know this site is not that good, but I still need your guys' feedback. For example, as I am a…

I'd like to share a new workbench I've been working on called DiffCAD. Coming from a software engineering background, not having the ability to properly diff my CAD model changes was driving me crazy. This project scratches my own itch, and maybe someone elses', too! I'm open to feedback, ideas, and contributions. Cheers!

I'm documenting everything about my process. From learning to code, to building the app, and all the way to my outreach efforts. I'm learning as I go and sharing it with everyone who's not a programer, and is daunted to build a software on their own. Trust me. If I can do it, anyone can! You can find my updates on: https://Claritask.com ...as well as video updates on https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdmqmifW4kIcPclXigay1dQ Would love to hear your feedback on my progress and if you have any suggestions on what I can do better. I'm trying to come up with a semi-stealth "about" for my newest project. The point is to give a little (clever) insight on the project, but not to give the farm away. Please let me know what you think... "Want to pay $34/month or get roped into a six month contract? We know the perfect match for you. But it's NOT us. Want to answer more than 400 pointless questions? We know a place that can give you such harmony. But it's NOT us. Want to join a site that's all about free and all about flakes? Hey there, I'm a solo dev behind KewlTools. So I'm one of those people who like to build their own tools/utilities whenever they a) want to get something done, or b) want to learn something. c) don't want to spend ages finding a utilty and going through walls of ads. I gradually built 66 tools, all free, fast, ad-free, and zero login. I (and my family/friends) use these daily, so thought some of you will find it useful! Any suggestions, improving current tools or adding new ones, please let me know.
