Products that do what Instaclass – Make a Masterclass on Literally Anything does
Hi all! We're Flynn, Moe, Bryn, and Porter, and we just launched Instaclass. Instaclass lets you make a masterclass on literally anything, using the best content that's already on the internet. This is the culmination of months of work in the AI content consumption space that we started last year while working in gaming. A huge part of our work was dedicated to creating content with generative AI, but the biggest lesson we learned was how much content is already out there! Practically everything you could ever need or want, in any niche, has already been created by someone. The trouble is…

The idea: what if you could get a “Masterclass”-style experience, but free, using existing YouTube content? So I made OpenCademy — right now it only has two quick startup "courses" (101 & 102), built from curated YouTube clips, all embedded and organized into modules. It’s still early (no accounts, no backend), but it’s bingeable. Would love thoughts on whether this concept feels useful or just... redundant.

Hi everyone, We have been developing a platform to enable professionals to build AI assistants to help them through their work. After a few months, we realized people are trying to sell basic functionalities that can be built from scratch in a couple of hours. Due to this, individuals who are not familiar with the current SOTA are misinformed about the potential of generative models. So, we decided to open up some of our most popular templates as standalone tools for free to empower individuals and set a solid standard for what people should expect. We believe the barrier to accessing…

Hello Hacker News, I've built a platform that lets anyone create their own voice-based AI tutor. To showcase what the platform can do, I've created a voice-based AI tutor for Stanford's famous CS229 Machine Learning course. I took the course myself and know how challenging it can be, so I built this to make it easier to follow and stick with. It's free for now (as long as budget lasts) -> https://vivaverbalis.com/ml The goal of my app is simple: Whether you're a student, teacher, or just curious, you can instantly spin up a conversational AI tutor, and share it, with whoever…

Hi I've created a text-based RPG game in which you can experience different adventures and play interesting characters while the AI acts as a real time DM/story teller. There are multiple ways to interact with AI: 1) Input free will move 2) Input default move (affects resources) 3) Post a question to DM Also one more cool feature is that you can create your own adventure via simple form. Add scenes, add characters and make it public so other players are able to test it. I also plan to have 'competetive' side where players will pay some small fee to creators in crypto depending on…

Hi HN! I'm Amber (13) and my dad Raj, and we built Nityasha AI from Guna, India. After my dad's 12 years of failed startups (2012-2023), we created a personal AI assistant that handles email, coding help, research, and planning in one conversational interface. I started coding at 9 on a 4GB RAM laptop. We failed 8 times before this—coupon sites, freelancing platforms, consulting. Nityasha is different: it uses Thesys generative UI for visual charts, includes Study Mode with Socratic teaching, and integrates everything so you don't need 10 tabs open. 500+ active users now. We just launched…

I've created an interactive tutorial that teaches how AI models work. I set myself the goal of making it approachable enough that my 11 year old son Isaac can fully understand it. The tutorial aims to be easily understood by anyone who understands basic math, and yet give them a deep intuitive sense of not just how AI works but why it works the way it does. It does this using a series of interactive playgrounds that let the reader play with each idea. Currently there are 9 chapters, starting from scratch and ending with transformers. I'm planning to keep adding more chapters until the…

Hey HN, I'm Damiano Rodriguez, and I've been working solo on a project called Caisual Games. It's a free platform where anyone can create web games just by describing them with their voice. Here's how it works: You simply describe your game idea ("Make a cookie clicker game with 5 upgrades"), and the platform generates a playable web game in seconds using HTML and JavaScript. There's no coding required and no downloads needed—you can create and play directly in your browser. What's more, anyone can improve a published game, fostering a collaborative environment for game creation. The…

Hi HN! I'd love your feedback for this AI storytelling game. Remember when you used to read choose-your-own adventure books as a kid? We're trying to re-create that. The site lets you create adventures by seeding them with parameters that end up feeding LLMs: title, genre, writing style, etc. Once you've done that, you can play your book like a game: with custom chapters, illustrations, voice narration, choices, and dice rolls. We’re really into the idea of merging the open-ended generative AI with goal-directed story arcs that the game author can control. Everything is open source (links…

Hey all, I’ve been working on a project that aims to change how we approach learning new skills. The idea is simple — you can master any skill in 30 days using a personalized learning plan powered by AI and Notion. They keys: practice and discipline. How it works: You can fill out a Typeform, and our AI will create a customized 30-day program just for you. Structured learning: Each day, the system provides you with a clear task or lesson based on science-backed learning principles. Track progress: It’s all managed in Notion, so you can stay organized and motivated while learning. Why I built…

Hi HN, My name is Othmane and I’ve been in the ML field (building and shipping models) for the last ~5years. Today, as many people out there, I come across new AI tools every week. However I was a bit surprised to see little to no mention of established AI vendors that existed before chatGPT and how most use cases are heavily biased toward content generation (text/image) or conversational AI (chatbots). I built a tool that helps you find the right AI solution/provider based on your use case. It uses a curated database of 100+ solutions from established vendors. It covers things…

Hi HN, We’ve just launched v1 of Respeakable, an AI-enhanced language tutor. We have two German lessons (Level A2, beginner to complete beginner) designed by a language-teacher friend of ours – feel free to try it out and give any feedback. We (lschneider and I) have been experimenting with learning languages (specifically French) using different vocabulary apps and tools. The issue is that apps like Duolingo are after your attention (their motto is “test everything”) rather than teaching you a language and are therefore hyper gamified and too easy – all about hijacking your dopamine system.…

Hi indie hackers, Im the founder of coursegenerator.pro - an AI course authoring platform, for creating course content that actually delivers value to the learner. Why I developed it? A few months back I was running an agency, in an attempt to attract leads we began creating course as lead magnets. But we were losing time, so we started hiring freelancers then we lost money. Since the courses, we're cresting so many leads, I decided to use an AI course generator, but all of them were build for corporate training and not course authoring for e-learning, so that is why I built it

Hi HN, I'm a solo developer learning to code, and I'd love to share my second real project: MapMyLearn, an AI-powered app that automatically generates personalized learning paths based on any topic you input. What it does: Takes a topic (e.g. "history of capitalism", "learn Rust", or "data storytelling") Uses AI to break it down into a structured course with modules and submodules Each submodule includes: - Detailed, pedagogical content (developed based on online sources to mitigate hallucinations) - A quiz of 10 questions - Recommended resources - An AI chatbot for Q&A - Optional audio…

Hi HN, We're a small team building AI tutors out of India, and as you might guess, this means we spend a ton of time writing, testing, and refining prompts for LLMs. When we started out, we were using the OpenAI playground but things became tedious when we wanted to compare responses from different models. We tried a bunch of other playgrounds but found them lacking in some features so we built our own. Quick Links: Github: https://github.com/supernova-app/ai-playground Hosted demo: http://playground.getsupernova.ai Demo video:…

Hey everyone, DNDGenerate is my little adventure into the world of AI and D&D. I wanted to learn more about using ChatGpt to build software and about the openai apis. When I saw how much fun my 9-year-old was having, creating his own D&D worlds. That got me thinking – why not make a tool that uses ChatGPT to help build cool D&D campaigns? It's been a blast mixing my love for tech and D&D. I showed this at our latest dnd game, and my fellow party members seemed to like the results, so I thought I'd share it here as well.
