Products that do what Mool (Loom clone). Free, offline-only, no signup does

Long-time HN lurker, first time poster. This is something I put together over a few days, it's a simple offline-only screen recorder with webcam compositing that works on any modern desktop browser. As much as I love Loom to avoid meetings, I don't want to pay for useless features and have my recordings essentially paywalled. I hate SaaS. With Loom's recent price increase, I thought I'd finally share it. Feedback is welcome

I've built a thing! A few months back someone (not me) posted my Mac app Droplings to HN. It was incredibly rough around the edges back then, and in alpha. Well, it's finished now and sparkles like crazy. Please take a look! :)

Hey! I built an open-source Loom alternative which allows you to record your screen, webcam and mic to easily create shareable videos. Here's how to use it - Create an account with ScreenLink - Download the ScreenLink Desktop application - Record your screen & instantly share! Its built with ElectronJS for desktop and NextJS for web/APIs. I used TailwindCSS and shadcn/ui to make it look nice :D Try it out and all feedback is appreciated

So I came across this really cool new service that works like Instapaper for video, and thought I'd share it with HN. Just got my invite today and I've been LOVING it so far. It lets me discover videos, bookmark them and watch offline on my iPad or iPhone. (My hour long subway rides without internet aren't painful anymore. Phew)

Hey everyone! We launched the first version of Cap earlier this year. It wasn't great. We had tons of feedback. A couple of months ago we started rebuilding Cap from the ground up (Tauri V2 + SolidJS). We're now focused on being local first. Cap is 100% free to use locally. New features include a powerful editor, screenshots, hotkeys and just overall a much better experience. Would love for you to test it out - appreciate you! Cheers, Richie

I made a simple site that allows you to upload files. It requires no sign up and 100% free. The biggest advantage is that it returns you the direct URL to your file. So you can use it to store images for MD-based forum posts. Or put in your site's . I use the Cloudflare R2 storage which offers zero egress fees. So I pay $0 of transfer costs. I added a simple anti-nsfw files check and a simple anti-malware check. Please do not try to break it. Thanks! (>‿◠)

Built this at a Startup Weekend last November. We've been sitting on this code for months. Would love to have some people signup and throw us a little feedback. Clearly this isn't finished, but with a little crowd support, we could just wrap it up in a weekend. A few things: - Works with Youtube and Vimeo, probably a few others. - Web UI is still pretty sloppy - zero onboarding. sorry. - We have native iPhone and iPad clients that are a handful of bugs from being shipped. Anyone interested in beta testing them, shoot me an email at ddinch :at: gmail. We will beam you up via TestFlight (great…

Over the past few weekends, I have been working on this tool that helps you easily create professional product videos or design walkthroughs from rough screen recordings like Loom. It’s a one-click platform that doesn’t require any editing skills. The idea came when I had to make a product demo, which took a lot of time with scripts and retakes. So I thought it would be a great way to learn more about AI while building something I’d actually use. I’ve tried to keep it as simple as possible. Please give it a try and share any feedback.

Well HN, I've finally produced something I think is worthy of sharing, but I didn't do it "in a weekend". Yeah, it's an iOS puzzle game. And yeah, it's a game I built because I wanted to play it rather than based on market research, so all this sort of makes it the antithesis of a popular HN post. But whatever. Still hoping for some of that patented (har har) expert HN feedback. Critique any part of it except the music. Also, PM me for upgrade codes, or I can post some here if there's any interest. I always find myself frustrated by how many steps I have to take to video chat with someone online. There's always too much software to download and install, and too many accounts to remember. The high-end, high-price Cisco conferencing systems I've used are especially fragile. So I built Vidless in a weekend for myself, and I hope you find it useful too. Just create a room and share the link, and you'll be chatting in seconds. You can invite several people (I haven't really tested a max yet), and chats on Vidless are always private. Enjoy!

Try it at: ssh krnl.duetbrowser.com No sign up, totally free - no download. Let me know what you think. Prior art exists (brow.sh) but I wasn't satisfied with their graphical take. I wanted the raw, old skool terminal days of the early internet - BBS, and old green phosphor library comptuers - but running the modern web, with all the bells and jingle jangle whistles (JavaScript, etc). No funding, no VC, just 100% raw terminal fun. Not sure how long the demo will last, but try it out.

Hey there, I'm a solo dev behind KewlTools. So I'm one of those people who like to build their own tools/utilities whenever they a) want to get something done, or b) want to learn something. c) don't want to spend ages finding a utilty and going through walls of ads. I gradually built 66 tools, all free, fast, ad-free, and zero login. I (and my family/friends) use these daily, so thought some of you will find it useful! Any suggestions, improving current tools or adding new ones, please let me know.
