24 alternatives to Open-source eMarket Online Store v1.0 beta 3
Greetings, dear colleagues. This time, I've decided to outline the latest innovations in the eMarket project - https://github.com/musicman3/eMarket. I'd really appreciate any helpful advice and criticism, as it gives me a better understanding of where to go next. Following previous publications, conclusions have been drawn, and a great deal of work has been done to implement many ideas and approaches. Currently, the following key libraries have been separated into separate repositories and significantly improved: Cruder (DB Query Builder) -…

OpenSEO▲928Hello! For the last 2 months, I've been building OpenSEO. It's a user friendly UI wrapping the DataForSEO API which has high quality SEO data for keywords, backlinks, AI SEO and competitor research. Instead of paying $100+ per month, you buy DataForSEO credits and pay only for usage. The coolest thing about the project so far has been hearing about what people are building on top of it. People are using coding agents to quickly integrate with Google Search Console, Google Ads and building their own AI SEO and reporting features. Many were already building their own custom solutions around…

We’re building Your Next Store, a modern, ultra-fast, open-source commerce in Next.js with Stripe as the backend - no DB required. Selling online is often more complex than it needs to be. Setting up a storefront with great performance can feel daunting and time-consuming. There are many plugins, libraries, etc - the choice can be overwhelming. Plus, in e-commerce, the backend and frontend are often written in different languages (e.g., PHP, Python, or Ruby for the backend). This increases the complexity and makes code management more challenging, especially for teams. After working in…

A couple of years ago, I had an interesting idea. What if there was a marketplace where all the underlying tech was open-source? The order management system, the storefront, customer support, etc. The marketplace would simply connect to the seller’s infra instead of locking them in. If, for some reason, the seller is removed from the marketplace, their software stays with them and they can continue accepting orders directly. This model can be used to disrupt any marketplace from AirBNB to UberEats: building tech for home renters and restaurants and later, leveraging that to build a competing…

I'm excited to finally launch Outstatic, an open source static website CMS that doesn't require a complicated setup or signing up to a third-party service! You can access the documentation here: Outstatic Documentation. I invite you to start by deploying our example blog to Vercel and giving it a try. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how easy and fun it is to use Outstatic. Please, let me know what you think. This is the first public version of the project and all feedback is welcome. If you dig the project feel free to leave a star on Github. I appreciate your support!

Hi HN! I wanted to share our product search and recommendation engine that we’ve built for our eCommerce api startup - Rye. For context, Rye lets people query and dropship products from almost any Shopify and Amazon store. One feature we wanted to have as part of our developer experience was a way for them to search and discover specific products to query. We’ve put together a demo marketplace to showcase the engine. Check it out here: https://search.rye.com/ Here’s a blog that outlines how we built it and how you can to:…

TLDR: I made a public only web analytics without signup. Stores views and visitors for 10 days before deleting data. Exactly 25 days ago today I posted here, proud of my new web analytics. The response was mixed and my post even got flagged (understandable). It was my first real launch and I actually made a sale just a day later of 49$(!). Back then my project was pay once, keep forever. Since then I have sadly went over to the dark side (subscription based). Anyways, I never went back to look at the post after the first two hours, turns out I got a lot of answers. Most answers was something…

Hello again everyone! I’m posting again to say thanks for the feedback, comments and insights on my last post. It was great feedback and I really appreciate it. The support I have received from the open source community the past few weeks has been astounding. I’ve taken all of the feedback to heart and we’ve done a lot of work to improve the documentation the past few weeks (it's still work in progress) on top of adding more features to the demo! I wanted to post an update for the most recent release - v0.90.0 - which brings support for Angular 20 and improved support for Shopify! For devs…

Hi HN! I’m working on Agora, an AI search engine for e-commerce products. Excited to launch the Agora API that helps other developers embed shopping experiences into their app. We provide endpoints to search, purchase, and track products sold on 25,000 different Shopify and WooCommerce stores. Early customers are building social shopping apps, marketplaces, and AI shopping assistants. I’d love your feedback!

I got tired of collecting open source projects in my chrome bookmarks so I decided to compile a curated list of: - Recently active projects on GitHub - Mostly dev tools (but also productivity, analytics) - Projects which are "Alternative to X software" My bookmarks are finally empty:D If you have a great open source tool you use, I'd be glad to hear your suggestions. Also, any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Hey people! I have been compiling a database of opensource alternatives and I'm super proud of it so far. It serves as a searchable directory for high-quality opensource. After tons of hours I've managed to compile a database of 1000+ opensource software. I've seen other sites which have the same premise and all the GitHub Awesome Lists, but they lack in showing if the repo is active, abandoned, experimental, buggy/unstable, has a restrictive license or corporate influence like this does. Thanks for your time, if you have any recommendations for features/additions I'd love to hear.

Hi guys, I've open-sourced the ecommerce project I build for my business. I've spent a lot of time on choosing the right libraries and decided to go with NodeJs and React. I'm sharing the project with you, and hope it will give you some ideas so you can build your ecommerce project faster. Hey HN! Over the past few weeks, I’ve been working on DataBridge, an open-source solution for data ingestion and querying across text, PDFs, images, and videos. In our latest update, we’ve added a fully local deployment option: - No internet required – Runs entirely offline. - Customizable Models – Supports any LLM and embedding model via Ollama (with options for any other private providers) - Extensibility – You can plug in your own models or tools easily. This local-first approach ensures better privacy, security, and flexibility, especially for teams dealing with sensitive data. You can…

Hi HN, I wanted to share EzziwebTools, a hub of 30+ free tools. The site is built with Next.js and React, and includes both standard utilities and a few AI-powered tools (using Groq/Llama 3), such as: An API Response Time Comparator (visualizes TTFB vs Download time) An AI-powered SQL Query Explainer & Optimizer A JSON-to-Zod schema converter A Thread/Carousel Builder that exports directly to PDF All the standard utilities are completely free and require no login. The AI tools have a generous daily free limit to help me manage API costs. I'd love for you to try it out. Any feedback…

I posted this a few weeks ago and the server died under the traffic. Fixed that by adding an in-mem caching layer with Redis/valkey and added CloudFront caching for static content. Also upgraded the server. Also fixed the Firefox bugs, trying again. It's a research tool for US stocks. Financials for ~10k companies pulled from SEC filings. You can chart any metric across companies, filter news by ticker, ask questions in plain English and get a chart back. There's also SQL console against the whole database, which is the part I like to use together with the AI chat (generates an SQL…

I built a next.js product catalog entirely on open source modular e-commerce and Vercel's serverless functions. You own the data, the commerce logic is integrated into your project and run through your own APIs. This is a showcase for our Modular way of approaching e-commerce rather than approaching it through Shopify or commercetools APIs. You can follow the twitter thread here - https://twitter.com/RiqwanMThamir/status/1671426435813179394 Looking forward to hearing your thoughts :)

I wanted to share something I've been working on recently: Statum, a handy web analytics tool. https://github.com/extractumio/statum The journey began when I found myself frequently needing simple web analytics for my projects. I tried Google Analytics, especially GA4, and realized it was quite complex and, at times, not very accurate, especially when I wanted to view stats for the current day or recent hours. Then I tested a few fancy startup solution but ended up with way too expensive plans the expect me to subscribe (I'm not that rich to pay $99/month for every…
