I built this because I was always creating machines on GH actions to test builds on different OS, and I wanted a tight CLI that could do it. I always saw Actions as this great resources and ephemeral machines you could do dev work in just were a natural way for me to work, so this grew out of that workflow. I didn't expect it to blow up, so it wasn't 100% finished when I posted it. But it should stabilize pretty quickly. Happy to know what you think and talk about it.

Hey HN! I'm Connor, creator of Replicas. I'm a heavy Codex/Claude Code user, and I wanted to hand off tasks to agents like I would to an engineer - kick something off before work, let it scaffold while I'm at lunch, even come back to a ready PR. The problem: existing alternatives use workspace VMs that are black boxes. I have no access to any of them - they can't run tests, read logs, or use tools like the Playwright MCP (which I use to verify agents actually fixed what they claim to fix). Replicas gives agents real cloud workspaces where they can: - Run your test suite and read the…

I've been working on CloudRouter, a skill + CLI that gives coding agents like Claude Code and Codex the ability to start cloud VMs and GPUs. When an agent writes code, it usually needs to start a dev server, run tests, open a browser to verify its work. Today that all happens on your local machine. This works fine for a single task, but the agent is sharing your computer: your ports, RAM, screen. If you run multiple agents in parallel, it gets a bit chaotic. Docker helps with isolation, but it still uses your machine's resources, and doesn't give the agent a browser, a desktop, or a GPU to…

Inspired by the recent justfuckingusetailwind.com, I built a similar "love letter" to the Cloudflare ecosystem. I find myself reaching for Workers, R2, D1, and KV for almost every project lately, so I wanted to capture that sentiment in a single, slightly over-the-top page. It’s a simple side project, but the stack is: - Vite + TypeScript - Biome + Ultracite - Deployed (obviously) on Cloudflare First draft in Claude, the copy was drafted with Grok to get that specific tone, then I used Google's AI Studio to accelerate the build with touch up's in Cursor. I wanted to play my Steam games but my aging PC couldn’t keep up, so I built Cloudy Pad - a tool to run Steam in the Cloud (GitHub: https://github.com/PierreBeucher/cloudypad) It runs on AWS, Azure, GCP, Scaleway and Paperspace with various cost optimizations and safeties: - Cost alerts - Auto stop inactive instances to avoid unwanted cost - Disk snapshots and data cleanup for cost efficiency - Spot instance support Under the hood: a Linux VM and a container running Sunshine (a streaming server https://github.com/LizardByte/Sunshine) with Steam. I built that initially for an AI chat bot that allows teams to perform DevOps tasks straight out of Slack/Teams (with proper permission control, obviously). Useful to let developers perform mundane tasks, or help coordinate incident response. I ended up using it myself on my own machine to manage Hetzner and AWS boxes. I thought that may be useful to others. The default policy should be good enough, but if you don't like living dangerously, you can set it to `paranoid`. Hello HN, I’m excited to share something we’ve been working on: Cloud Troubleshooting Labs. This tool provides on-demand environments for engineers to practice hands-on troubleshooting with AWS, GCP, Azure, and Kubernetes. What it does: We use Pulumi to spin up these environments. Each scenario includes a diagram and an explanation of the available IT infrastructure. Engineers are tasked with fixing configuration issues to make the application work. Depending on the test type, the environment could range from a simple terminal to a full cloud environment or a web-based VSCode. Many of our…
