I'm pretty frustrated by the shorts player for YouTube so I made this userscript which simply redirects to the default player that has a scrub-bar, does not loop automatically and does not overlay the video with UI. This at least fixes my biggest frustration with this new video format.

This simple tool was born out of a personal need for a more efficient way to consume YouTube content. It provides you with a short and segment-wise summary of a YouTube video. Each segment is printed with a link to that part of the video. I know there are several Chrome extensions that do this, butI work with different browsers so I wanted a simple CLI app for that. Hey HN community, excited to share a project that I've worked on. On EduTube you can discover 1000+ hand-selected educational YouTube videos. YouTube has a lot of really great educational content but it's hard to find the really good ones. Personally, I find that the recommendations page often falls short, and I've lost count of how many times I've struggled to select a video to watch while eating, only to end up with cold food.
