I'd like to announce the latest public beta release of Hobson - an open-source IoT platform that promotes ease-of-use and has no cloud dependencies. It is free, multi-platform and supports various devices, services and protocols through a powerful plugin system. It can be used by end-users to control various consumer smart devices or by IoT developers as a foundation for their own solutions. I use Claude every day but there are things I will not type into a cloud service. I have a Mac with Apple Silicon running Apple Foundation Models locally and privately. I started Marco because I finally lost patience with Apple Mail, and the email client market has a weird gap. Legacy clients look terrible and/or are not cross-platform.
