Hi HN community, As a busy techie with kids and other family obligations and my recent health diagnosis, I wanted an efficient way to integrate workouts in my daily routine and my research indicated that HIIT/Tabata style routines fit that requirement much better than a dedicated long running/planned workout routine. I made a simple PWA to help me with that endeavor that I have found useful and hoping some of you may like it as well. No sign ups needed but you can sign in if you'd like to save custom presets and history/progress. You may also enjoy some of the fitness…

Inspired by the following post by photon_off... http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=1683309 I made karmurl last night. It's a simple app where you submit a URL for feedback, then for every piece of feedback you give to someone else's, you get to read one piece of feedback for yours. http://karmurl.com

Hi, the maker here. Like most developers, I stare at my work screen for many hours a day, completely forgetting that my eyes need rest. Yes, in an ideal world you need to go for a walk, do eye exercises, and also sleep well, etc. I tried different techniques and reminders, but it only lasted me for a couple of days. So I decided to make a browser extension that contains exercises and a timer to switch from routine tasks to short exercises, this allows you to switch tasks and really helps relieve stress. In development, I used scientific articles with an evidence base and chose exercises for…

i built a heart rate zone training app for runners. ios + apple watch. custom zones, real-time haptics, post-run graphs. all the “smart” stuff you’d expect. but i never talked to a single runner before building it. not even myself lol. started as a thesis → kept building → added features → added a paywall (€4/month!) → launched it → and yeah… no one cared. zero feedback. zero users. just code in the void. i recently made the whole thing free. not trying to “sell” anything now — just seeing if it’s actually useful, and listening this time. curious how others handle this. ever build…

Mond is a tiny chrome extension that kindly ask you to choose what you want to do before having an Internet session. Based on your choice, it will open in advance / block webs to save you lots of manual actions and prevent distraction. This is a product I made to solve my own problem and I been using it for about 2 months before releasing it. Look forward to your feedbacks folks.

I spent a month to put together a workout app without writing a single line of code by hand. It's on par with many apps like Fitbod or Fitness AI. Got approved on iOS App Store. Let me know if you want free access, only thing I ask is to give me genuine feedback and one feature you would like to see. I will be asking Codex/Claude to rank the top features and implement it.

I've just launched this little iOS app as an alternative to Apple Fitness, which is cluttered and chaotic when it comes to visualizing basic workout stats and metrics. The idea is to focus on a clean, minimalistic design and only show high-level metrics that are actually useful, e.g. how often did I work out this week/month/year, cardio vs strength vs mobility, surf session count in February, etc. It's free and offline. Also, no signup, no ads, no data sharing, no social feeds, and no notifications. Just open it and get a quick glance at the state of your workout game within 2s.…

Hello and Happy New Year HN! Hope all the bests in 2022. So I've been working on a minimal calendar app , named Clendar (Calendar without an 'a'). I know, it's not a good SEO name, but I will go with it :) I've been building Clendar on my spare time. At first, it's just a side weekend project so that I can learn new Apple technologies, but, the app came to the point of usability that I think I should publish on the App Store anyway for the world to know and use it. Besides, I have been trying to design the app for minimal and usability in mind. Also, the app is fully open-source, as a way…

I was going through my app subscriptions and realized I was paying $15 for a pretty good workout app, which seemed a bit high to me. As a software engineer who is also well versed in claude code, I realized that I could likely vibecode a very similar app, or even build something more to my liking. I challenged my self to build something roughly equivalent this afternoon. Workflow was: start with a detailed spec from Claude code describing many of the features common in workout apps. Then paste this into lovable to have it build out the initial mvp. Once that was built, I used claude code…

Had some time available and wanted to play with user interface design, so I thought of a simple app that lent itself to that. Coding was roughly 8-10 hours for the whole thing, then another 15-20 hours to take the pictures (homemade studio, iPhone for camera, Gimp to edit). Looking forward to your feedback, and I have promo codes available for anyone that wants them https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/simple-knot/id593421479?mt=8
