I'm sure you all saw the debate a few days ago, alongside all the tech influencoors giving their mid-takes about politics. Doesn't it get tiring? That's why I built mindfirewall a chrome extension that uses AI to filter out tweets. You'll never have to see politics, war, or negativity on your timeline again. In the future you'll be shocked you even allowed this stuff into your brain in the first place. Let me know what you think below, does it feel too much like censorship? would you use this?

hi friends! i'm pretty tired of engagement bait and all the political nonsense on my x/twitter feed. i was curious if i could use an llm to filter out these type of content, so i prototyped a quick chrome extension. it uses LLama 3.3 to analyze the tweet through https://groq.com/ (because they are super-super fast). the extension is available in the chrome store, also there is a link to the repo. - you can tweak the system prompt for the filtering - but you need your own API key from Groq (you can get one for free)

Psychology research is currently facing a crisis: A significant amount of published studies cannot be reliably reproduced. Yet these studies will still be used in news headlines, and treated as fact. Research into social media has not been immune to this either, with the problem exacerbated by study designs that don’t match the real world. We built the Misinformation Game to aid in this problem. Our tool allows researchers to design social-media studies that look and feel like social media, while also making sure that each participant has a similar experience. This is really important for…

Votizen is working to remove the influence of money in politics by making political decision-making more peer-to-peer. We're using Twitter and our API to pull tweets from only registered voters, and showing how the discussion breaks down among the parties. This has never been done before as far as I know, not even by the major media outlets. Please check it out and let me know what you think. If people are interested, we'll work to improve it for the further debates and campaigns.
