Products that do what Tearline – wrap any HTML in one tag, get a thermal receipt and a PNG does
One custom element that renders anything you wrap in it as a thermal receipt, then exports it as a PNG. Zero dependencies, no build step, MIT.

I've always been fascinated by thermal printers – there's something magical about seeing text and images materialize on paper in seconds. But I found that working with them programmatically was always a pain. You either had to deal with ancient printer protocols or use clunky vendor-specific SDKs. So I built Printercow (https://printercow.com) – it turns any thermal printer into an HTTP endpoint with just one command. Technical details: - Supports any ESC/POS compatible printer (Epson, Star Micronics, etc.) - Handles paper widths from 58mm to 120mm - Automatic image dithering…

A hobby project of mine that was surprisingly easy to put together! I love waking up and seeing the freshly generated image.

Hi HN, I'm proud to show you that I've finally managed to create a Receipt-Image to JSON converter, including line-items! Over the past 10 years, I have periodically tried (every ~3 years or so) to convert Receipt-Images to JSON. What particularly interested me were the line-items. It began with a Bachelor's project where we wanted to track prices by extracting product prices from line items. However, it was not feasible to ask users to type them all into our platform. I quickly realized this process was way too tedious. Only when taking a picture is all that is required, would such a…

Hi everyone, I build some "online" converters as a side project in the last weeks. The difference to existing conversion websites is, that my converters don't upload your files. Everything happens in your browser on your device (with the help of a lot of great Open Source Javascript libraries). I think privacy is an essential feature for a service like this, so my converters also don't use google analytics or any other form of tracking (in fact they use no external resources at all). I started this because I ended up with some .heic files from my iPhone and had to use ImageMagick every time…

Recently I'm working on CopyUI which is an extension to copy UI element from websites and export html(or jsx) and css(or tailwind). I'm building this tool in order to create better landing pages because I'm really not good at layout and colors. So I hope to learn from others' design and innovate later, not to simply replicate.

One original print, every morning. A receipt printer wakes before you do and prints a one-of-a-kind piece of character art themed to the date, the weather, and the mood of the news. - matt-w-horn/morningprint

I wrote this simple Python script that prints the daily weather forecast on those cheap thermal receipt printers you can get online for under fifty bucks. It fetches weather data, converts the icons to something printable, and outputs everything in ESC/POS format so you can pipe it directly to /dev/USB/lp0. Nothing fancy, i just thought it would be nice to have a physical weather printout each morning. You can configure it with your GPS coordinates and timezone, and stick it in a cron job. Enjoy!

Hi there. I spent the last couple months building this chrome extension to scratch my own itch. It allows you to extract a snippet of HTML along with its styles and export to inline styles or JSX. It’s not perfect and doesn’t work on every site. There is class support but I am still working on it along with some other cool features. Feedback is appreciated.

Hey guys, I needed a way to convert Code, CSV, and Markdown snippets to shareable images so I built this over the weekend. It all runs locally in the browser using a few lines of jQuery. Nothing fancy. Sharing in case someone else might find it useful!
