Products that do what The Lobste.rs invitation tree, visualized does
Lobste.rs makes its entire invitation tree public. I scraped it and built this interactive visualization. Some interesting patterns: - The top 10 inviters are responsible for ~40% of all users. - The tree is surprisingly shallow: Most users are only 4-6 generations from the founder. Max depth is around 15. Built with Sigma.js for WebGL rendering. Works on mobile too. (I am seeking a lobste.rs invite if anyone's willing! – my email is in my profile)

I've always dreamed about a project like that when looking at status boards at other companies. We finally had the time to do our own. Hello hackers, I just launched a new MVP It's a todo app using mapped todo lists instead of regular lists ! https://ymappr.com It's bugged and very beta, but I released this complex MVP in only two weeks ! (+ made while relocating from Thaïland to Vietnam, and even while being sick). Needless to say, despite the raw interface, a lot of efforts was put into this. I was lucky enough to have my site trending on Friday (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=25872922). It’s an icon site that lists open source icons. I wanted to share some stats on the results after 3 days. Worth noting was that I submitted it on a Friday morning (at which point I went for a walk and a coffee; eek). - 24,997 page views. I (embarrassingly) didn’t have GA set up when I first submitted it, so this is probably missing a few hundred page views - 21 “feedback” emails (half of which were spam). I built over 3-4 weeks to solve my own pain point, picking up rust along the way. It has a browser version that works online/offline and cross platform desktop as well. Hey there -- thought I'd show this simple app off. I'm bad at rails/html/css/js but made a Rick Roll generator in just under a day with rails! It's kind of incredible how relevant the rick roll still is after ~15 years. Any generated Links Dynamically make opengraph tags to disguise themselves as whatever the user inputs. This is a side project that I have been hacking on for the last two months. It started out as trying to find a better way to see my girlfriend, as we go to universities in separate cities.
