For the past 3 years I have been working on a Golang port of plausible analytics dashboard. vince is a single binary, single user with multiple website system with zero runtime dependency. Key featues: - Automatic TLS - Outbounds link tracking - File downloads tracking - 404 pages tracking - Custom event tracking And so much more, basically everything that you see on plausible dashboard except funnels and custom properties. You can use vince as a drop in replacement for plausible for personal websites. The goal is to make the plausible dashboard easily accessible for people who like to self…

After months of using Google Analytics I realized only about 50% of people accepted my cookie-popup. I had months of incorrect data for my website. I started looking for alternatives and eventually found Plausible, which is great (and open-source). Problem is, I didn't feel like paying 9$ a month to see the amount of visitors on a website i didn't even earn anything on, it was just a hobby project. Eventually I started making my own web analytics. Which actually isn't that hard. It took me about a month of working on my spare time every now and then. Being GDPR compliant basically means to…

Hey HN. Long-time lurker (2017) here, but finally something to post about. I've been building an iOS companion app for Plausible over the past few months. There are some great ones out there already, but I have always wanted to try building an app first-hand. I'm quite proud of the end result, so I wanted to share it online to see if people would be interested in using it. In case you don't know: Plausible Analytics (https://plausible.io/) is a privacy-friendly alternative to Google Analytics. You can self-host it or choose to use their SaaS platform. I chose Plausible…

I created this chrome extension for myself where I track my own behavior locally and recommend myself content from platforms I want content from (youtube/twitter/quora/etc) in a feed. I made it public just in case anyone else was interested. I would rather have control over my own algorithm and own the data. Also, it gives me flexibility. Turns out I do like these feeds just not when I don't own it haha. Let me know what you think of my implementation?

I've built a little prototype a long while back, to help me keep track of visitors on my website. I didn't like google analytics for obvious privacy reasons, and I didn't like the existing self-hosted options because of how complicated they are. I always wanted a simple, basic tool, similar to plausible, but even simpler. So a few weeks ago I rebuilt my prototype into a reusable tool. And I made it open source. I built a website, a documentation, and I'd be excited for someone else to try it too. Who knows, maybe if enough people like the idea, I might even make it into a SaaS to save…
