Hi HN, https://companies.bx.tc My colleague and I put together this tool for easily searching UK company data. We run a few server side batches daily to extract data from various government sources before linking it all together in (what is now) a fairly large database. We're also using this project as a way to test out a new JS UI library we built (similar to Vue, but a bit faster) to see how it stands up in a real project. I created this website about a month ago to solve a problem I was facing myself as an aspiring digital nomad. It is very important to find an accommodation with fast and reliable Internet. I also specifically wanted places with Ethernet access to minimize latency as much as possible since I (and many others) use a VPN hosted back at home. The database is in its infancy but covers 11 countries so far. I realize the UX is very basic and a minimum viable product. I intend to have someone help me overhaul the design (with ReactJS perhaps) to make it mobile friendly and more appealing.

There is way too much spam out and an inconsistent way to say "work from home" so traditional searching doesn't work (or rather, takes a long time per person). I wanted to find a product idea to build. "Build things people want," right? So I thought, why not literally find people saying what they want? I wrote a script to collect thousands of Reddit posts where people are looking for a solution or complaining about a problem. Then I used GPT to filter out the noise and score each one based on how viable the idea seemed. Threw together a simple search interface so anyone can explore them.
