Products that do what Webapp to organize search for properties when renting/buying does
Backstory: Few years back, I used a shared spreadsheet (GSheets) to organize my property hunt, and found it quite frustrating to keep on top of things just on the productivity side alone. Felt that there should be a better way to do this, and that's when I started creating a webapp, with features that can make this journey feel less stressful. This is a solo dev project. I recently decided to try out Google Tasks as my only task management system, and while I find some things about the interface great, it really isn't suited for someone like me who has multiple lists with lots of elements on each. So, I whipped this together real fast and I can't imagine using Google Tasks without it anymore. I realized you might want it too, so I put it on the web. Enjoy :)

Hi HN! I've spent the last few months building HomeSheet - The all in one tool to track your personal assets. I built HomeSheet to make organizing and documenting my belongings a breeze. I've always wanted to put together a home inventory to protect myself in the event of a disaster, but I never found a solution that I liked. We're a small team of 3 engineers, and wanted to make a better way to look for for properties online. Traditional portals (esp. outside of US) are just a bit rubbish for doing anything other than basic searching. I created http://devtest.net as a weekend project, and I'm pretty proud of it from a technical and UI standpoint. Hey HN, I love scrolling through Zillow and spend way too much time thinking a property is gonna be my next home just to find a couple of days of research later what’s the catch. I built this property analyzer to get a quick overview of “the good, the bad, and the ugly” (love spaghetti westerns) for the property. I came up with this idea when I was looking to move to London with a friend. I quickly learned how frustrating it is to trial-and-error housing options for days on end, just to be denied after days of searching due to some grotesque counteroffer. We run a few server side batches daily to extract data from various government sources before linking it all together in (what is now) a fairly large database. This project started with me wanting to find a nice place to live with my partner. I'm a data scientist by day so I thought I'd approach it systematically. When I showed it to my friends, many said they wanted to try it too, so I made it into an app and put it online.
