Tool shows UK properties matching group commute/time preferences

I came up with this idea when I was looking to move to London with a friend. I quickly learned how frustrating it is to trial-and-error housing options for days on end, just to be denied after days of searching due to some grotesque counteroffer. To add to this, finding properties that meet the budgets, commuting preferences and work locations of everyone in a group is a Sisyphean task - it often ends in failure, with somebody exceeding their original budget or somebody dropping out. To solve this I built a tool (https://closemove.com/) that: - lets you enter between 1-6…

In plain words

This tool helps groups of people find UK rental properties that meet everyone's budget and commuting requirements. Users enter between one and six people's workplaces, budget constraints, and maximum commute times, then the tool filters rental listings to show only properties satisfying all parameters. Results display in list or map view. It addresses the complexity of group house hunting by eliminating options that work for some but not others, streamlining a typically frustrating process.

For the past few months, I've been working on a website that answers two different questions: - Where in my city have the best travel times to all the things and people I care about? - Given a listing, how far is it from all the things and people I care about? Personally this was fueled by my own frustrations when I was apartment hunting in NYC. I was frustrating to have to juggle so many Google Maps tabs when I was evaluating a listing, and it was also annoying to not have full confidence that I was even searching in the right places. I wanted to be close to work, a Trader Joe's, and a…

We made a photo search engine for homes for sale2025 · ▲71

We're a small team of 3 engineers, and wanted to make a better way to look for for properties online. Traditional portals (esp. outside of US) are just a bit rubbish for doing anything other than basic searching. So we've: - Created a crawler that reads through estate agents websites to find homes for sale - Parses that through a series of LLMs and other models to understand each home in depth (e.g. floor type, location, total sqft) - Parses every photo through an embeddings vector space so that people can search for whatever they want.
