Products that do what ZF Grants – Grants and Community Funding in $ZEC does
The Zcash Foundation’s new platform for grants and community funding, ZF Grants, is open for proposals! The Foundation plans to dispense the Zcash equivalent of $500,000 through ZF Grants in 2019. As one of the contributors to this project, I'm super interested in hearing what the community here thinks. You can learn more about ZF Grants at https://grants.zfnd.org/ and https://www.zfnd.org/blog/zf-grants-is-ready/ Happy to field any questions about the platform :)

Hi HN We built a tool to help founders understand how modern fundraising (with safes) works, and how much dilution you can expect when raising money. The project is open-source. The code is a mess right now, but it'll get better I promise. You can also help with that. We didn't build this to make money. We genuinely did it because we were looking for it, and couldn't find it. We're in fact in the process of fundraising for a company, and at first glance the process looks simple. Just an excel sheet will do! But then the more we dug into it and tried different simulators, the more we realized…

Hi HN, Last year, we launched a non-profit AI research lab called AI Grant (http://aigrant.org). Our goal is to fund promising people around the world working on AI. No strings attached. We've since given away over $100,000 to 30 teams working on different projects. You can see some of them here: http://aigrant.org/#finalists. We just started accepting applications for our third batch! The academic grant application process is burdensome. It's only avalible to a choice few. Applications take days to complete. AI Grant is open to anyone on the internet. You can apply…

Hey everyone! I just built a mobile app using Expo (React Native) for a platform that moves $6M/month. It’s a neobank used by 6,500+ nonprofit organizations across the world. One of my biggest challenges, while juggling being a full-time student, was getting permission from Apple/Google to use advanced native features such as Tap to Pay (for in-person donations) and Push Provisioning (for adding your card to your digital wallet). It was months of back-and-forth emails, test case recordings, and also compliance checks. Even after securing Apple/Google’s permission, any minor…

We strongly believe working on open source software should be a viable source of income for many more developers. Unfortunately, the following barriers limit the extent of open source funding: - Only a small fraction of open source projects are funded, and most money goes to a few notable projects. - Each project has to market is self to get significant funding. - Large corporate donations provide the bulk of the funding, making it unreliable and unattainable for many. - Finding and supporting each of your dependencies is a cumbersome task. Which ones, how much, and on which platforms? So we…

Hey guys, So we made this site with the goal of funding a lobbyist to represent the 99%. The money comes from small pledges of $5 and up. So far we've raised nearly $10k in under a week. We're focusing fund raising efforts on causes. I'm the founder and lead developer, and I'd love to hear this community's thoughts on the project as well as answer any questions. Thanks guys! http://www.wethelobby.com/

Student debt is troubling so many recent graduates that we decided to graduate debt-free from the university. We launched FundingFyre - a database of startup pitch decks, pitch videos and investment memos… all together 1,500+ items. You can filter the resources by funding round, size, etc. Many of you might be raising Seed or Series-A funding and these resources would be immensely helpful. We kept it a paid service to earn enough to pay our tuition fees and cover living expenses. But for the HackerNews community, we have a 50% discount, please use code “HN2022”. We’re four students (Grade 12…
